Bowser Jr. is the absolutely perfect item-boy though. Not only does he get a good item that is available from 1st place, but he has the most delightful malicious laughter as he raises hell everywhere.

Yes! Yes the shell is cooler than Zera. And it took me forever to get other people hyping Baby Bowser and his Shell! I'm glad to see him finally getting his due.

My friend uses Baby Bowser and Diddy Kong exclusively, for their unique items, in Double Dash.

I use the Koopa duo for no logical reason myself, though triple red is always a lot of fun.

I blame my attachment to the Luigi kart (which, granted, is the best kart in the game until you're willing to accept the godliness of the Bullet in spite of its 1 weight) for not using Bowser Jr. more earlier. Him + Diddy is indeed pretty excellent, I just dislike Diddy.

The small characters get a pretty strong set of items in general (chomp's iffy I guess, sorry Ciato ;_;) but this is offset by their karts being pretty bad outside the bullet. The bullet, as I just mentioned, rules.

And pretty much everything is cooler than Zera!
