The scrollbars on avatars are in place to limit page-stretching.

Can't help you with the Denizen titles, of course; that's up to Hal to disable. Personally, I don't find them terribly hard to ignore. :V

Looks like the avatar size limit is actually 90x128 (or is that the other way around in reverse...) or something rather than 128x128.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I run 800x600 because higher resolutions make the old folks go blind trying to find desktop icons, so that's almost certainly behind it.
