Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby
Probably the battle music that's the most fun to listen to out of game, Naesala never really had a chance.
Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth
Divine identity has some parts that are stronger than it's foe, some that are weaker. But they're disjointed, whereas And You Will Know the Truth is one long high. It's kinda like the difference between FF6's Decisive Battle and FF7's Still More Fighting.
Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle) v Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle
Not a strong piece, but it manages to avoid dissonance.
Final Fantasy VIII ~ Never Look Back v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle
I don't recall anything in FF8 as strong as Decisive Battle... Let's see if I'm wrong. Yeah... no, not even one of FF8's good tracks.
Wild ARMs 5 - Volsung XERD_3113 v Chrono Trigger - Magus Battle
No real strong opinion of XERD, while Magus' battle is both thematic and strong by itself.
Final Fantasy IX – “Hunter’s Chance” v Shadow Hearts – “Shadow Hearts”
Overly long, and not much point to it in the end. Hunter's Chance isn't much, but it doesn't meander all over the place.
Final Fantasy VI - Dancing Mad v Soul Nomad - Rock'n Rocks
Rock'n Rocks starts off strong, and it is catchy, but... Well, it feels like one of those tunes that just gets worse with age. Sure, Dancing Mad starts off slow, but even it's slow bit is fine, and Tier 2 and up are just divine.
Final Fantasy V - Battle on the Big Bridge v Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter: Electricity Suppliant Building (PowerOne)
Does Ryu ever break out into sea shanties in the middle of a big battle? No? I didn't think so!
