Right now.
1. I was saying "Boo-urns".
Hans Moleman, in A Star Is Burns (Season 6, 18th episode), aka the film festival episode with Jay Sherman from the Critic. Most people got this one.
2. Oh, you Americans with your "Due Process" and "Fair Trials". This is so much easier in Mexico.
Ned Flanders, as Satan himself, in Treehouse of Horror IV (Season 5, 5th episode). Trying to be tricky here, but most people saw through it.
3. Remember when I said I would eat you last? I lied.
Ranier Wolfcastle, in The Bart Wants What It Wants (Season 13, 11th episode). Surprised more people didn't get this. It's a fucking Commando spoof, people!
4. This is indeed a disturbing universe.
Maggie Simpson, in Treehouse of Horror V (Season 6, 6th episode) Again, most people got this.
5. I love you, Dr. Zaius.
Troy McClure, who you might recall from such episodes as A Fish Called Selma (Season 7, 19th Episode). Less people got this than I expected. I guess the whole Planet of the Apes thing isn't ingrained in their memory like it is for me.
6. It brings love! Don't let it get away!
Lenny, from The Springfield Files (Season 8, 10th episode). Lots of people got the episode right, but not the person. I suppose Lenny does mostly stay in the background, though.
7. You know, they call them fingers, but I don't ever see them fing. Oh, there they go.
Otto, the bus-driver, in Weekend at Burnsie's (Season 13, 16th episode). One of the better episodes in the Simpsons later years. Also one of the better lines.
8. I'll be taking batteries. To throw at people I don't like. Like you!
Groundskeeper Willie, in The President Wore Pearls (Season 15, 3rd episode). Few people got this one, as expected. It was a golden line in a episode that was mostly crap.
9. Now I...I finally have time to do what I've always wanted: write the great American novel. Mine is about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques. I call it "Billy and the Cloneasaurus."
Principal Skinner, in Sweet Seymour Skinner's Badasssss Song (Season 5, 19th episode). Love this line a lot too.
10. Shoplifiting is an innocent crime, like punching people in the dark.
Nelson Muntz, in Marge Be Not Proud (Season 7, 11th episode). Surprisng number of people said Jimbo on this one.
11. Why, it's that delightful TV leprechaun. I'm going to get your Lucky Charms!
Montgomery Burns, in Team Homer (Season 7, 12th episode). Sorta the inverse of number 6, Burns was a common guess but only a few people got the episode right.
12. The only thing I'm high on is love...love for my son and daughters. Yes, a little LSD is all I need.
Marge Simpson, in Home-Sweet-Homediddly-Dum_Doodily (Season 7, 3rd episode). No, I didn't mean for there to be 3 Season 7 quotes in a row.
13. A powerful tidal wave in Kuala Lumpur has killed one hundred and twenty people. Ay, chihuahua! Whoa, whoa, whoa!
The Bumblebee Man, in Bart Gets Famous (Season 5, 12th episode). Wanted to throw a bit of a curveball here.
14. Hey you know what? I could call my ma while I'm up here. Hey, maw! Get off the dang roof!
Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel, in 22 Short Films about Springfield (Season 7, 22nd Episode). I don't think I can do another one of these because everybody is going to just know to read up on Season 7 episodes beforehand.
15. Now, over the years, a newsman learns a number of things that for one reason or another, he just cannot report. It doesn't seem to matter now, so...the following people are gay.
Kent Brockman, in Bart's Comet (Season 6, 11th episode). Fairly obvious, once you think about it, but the idea just never fails to get a rise out of me.
16. Your infatuation is based on a physical attraction. Talk to the woman, and you'll realize you have nothing in common.
Barney Gumble, in The Last Temptation of Homer (Season 5, 9th episode). Trying to be tricky again here.
17. Weeeeee rooooooove youuuuuuuu!
Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II, in Bart Gets an Elephant (Season 5, 14th episode). Also trying to fool people here, this time more successfully. Only one person got this, I think.
18. But Aquaman, you can't marry a girl without gills. You're from two different worlds! ...Oh, I've wasted my life.
Comic Book Guy, in Treehouse of Horror VIII (Season 9, 4th episode). Obvious, again, but I like it, though it does work better with the perfect timing.
19. Litter is my most treacherous foe. I would like to eat its children.
Drederick Tatum, aka the Mike Tyson parody, in Jaws Wired Shut (Season 13, 9th episode). Surprised more people didn't think of who it was simply by the line.
20. Well, he's kind of had it in for me, since I accidently ran over his dog. Actually, replace `accidently' with `repeatedly', and replace `dog' with `son'.
Lionel Hutz, in Marge in Chains (Season 4, 21st episode). I actually don't remember this episode at all, just happened across the quote while looking up something entirely unrelated and thought it would work quite well.
Bonus challenge: 10 Celebrity cameos and One-off characters!
1. I must go now. My home planet needs me.
Poochie the dog, in The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show (Season 8, 14th episode). Pretty obvious if you ever saw the episode in question.
2. Wherever there is mystery and the unexplained, cosmic forces shall draw me near.
Leonard Nimoy, aka Spock, in The Springfield Files. Ahh, Nimoy, when aren't you prime spoofing material?
3. Hiya, Homer. Find your soulmate!
The Talking Dog from El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Homer (Season 8, 9th episode).Lots of people thought it was the Coyote, but I was leinent and let it slide. The whole exchange is one of the best in the entire show, I think.
4. We envy you, Homer. All we have is our music, our legions of fans, our million of dollars and our youth. ...Whoo-hoo!
Billy Corgan, of Smashing Pumpkins fame, in Homerpalooza (Season 7, 24th episode. Season 7 again. I also let just saying "Smashing Pumpkins" slide. Soppy guessed Sonic Youth. Hah-Hah!
5. It's time for this Hawk to fly! ....Wrong button.
Stephen Hawking, in They Saved Lisa's Brain (Season 10, 22nd Episode). Really, really surprised by how few people got this.
6. Dear Marge. Thanks for the fab painting of Yours Truly. I hung it on me wall. You're quite an artist. In answer to your question, yes, we do have hamburgers and fries in England. But we call French fries `chips'.
Ringo Starr, in Brush with Greatness (Season 3, 22nd Episode). Oldest episode in the whole list I think?
7. Hey, look at my feet. You like those moccasins? Look in your closet; there's a pair for you. Don't like them? Then neither do I! Get the hell outta here! Ever see a guy say good-bye to a shoe?
Hank Scorpio, aka Best One-Off Character Ever, in You Only Move Twice (Season 8, 2nd episode). Pretty much everybody got this, which is a good thing.
8. People, he's talking about sanitation management. And that affects the whole damn world!
Bono, of U2 fame, in Trash of the Titans (Season 9, 22nd Episode). This fooled some people, as expected.
9. Well then, we'll form our own town. Who will come and live a life devoted to chastity, abstinence, and a flavorless mush I call rootmarm?
Jebediah Springfield, in Lemon of Troy (Season 6, 22nd Episode). I was surprised at how many people got this.
10. I know your problem. The Lincoln Memorial was too crowded.
Thomas Jefferson, in Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington (Season 2, 2nd episode). This one, however, was surprisingly difficult.
And here are the results. First score is the original list of 20, with 40 points possible, and the second is the 10 bonus questions, with 20 points possible:
Fudo: 32/20
Soppy: 32/16
Zenthor: 31/16
Shale: 26/13
NEB: 24/17
Cid: 23/18
CK: 18/17
What's this on the original list? THAT'S RIGHT MOTHERFUCKERS IT'S A TIE. BETWEEN FUDO AND SOPPY OF ALL PEOPLE.
You know what this means?
QUOTE QUIZ SUDDEN DEATH, BITCHES!
I'm going to ask one trivia question. Whoever PMs it to me first wins the 3rd contest. After this I'm going to bed, most likely, so you'll know the result in the morning.
Here's the Question:
Sudden Death: In which episode does beloved side-character Disco Stu first make an appearance?
Good luck, gentlemen.
As for all the rest of you, thanks for participating! I think now I'm going to ponder my obession with Season 7.
