Heavy:
Dark Knight Cecil (FF4) vs. Lezard Valeth (VP2 - PC form only): Faster and more accurate ID, yeah.
Odessa Silverburg (S1) vs. Nicholai (SH2 - PC form only): Nic is above average at most things, but Odessa has more speed, highly accurate sleep, and healing against a character with low SP.

Middle:
Milda (G1) vs. Asch (TotA - stick with his first temp appearance for this, i.e., the less laughable one >_>): Asch1's actually not bad, but Milda definitely feels better with her damage.

Light:
Ted (S1 form only) vs. Alma (FFT - LESALIA FORM ONLY): MBarrier should beat below average damage I think.

Lina Inverse (Slayers RPG) vs. Goku (DBZ:LotSS) - Meeple only, I presume?

Heavy:
Dark Knight Cecil (FF4) vs. Lezard Valeth (VP2 - PC form only) - DK Cecil gets held to much less amazing PCs. Lezard has to deal with a cavalcade of Einherjar (and Rufus) teammates to be compared against.
Odessa Silverburg (S1) vs. Nicholai (SH2 - PC form only) - I love Odessa, but I'll be damned if I remember anything about these two in terms of battle performance.

Middle:
Shinjiro Aragaki (P3) vs. Canaan (XS3) - XS3...
Milda (G1) vs. Asch (TotA) - I actually LIKE Asch, but he doesn't have any decent status or speed tricks and Milda will smash him good. There may be a FoF trick he can abuse here though...

Light:
Ted (S1 form only) vs. Alma (FFT - LESALIA FORM ONLY) - Ted looks downright amazing here.
Luis Virgil (XS1 - PC form only) vs. Samson (AtL4) - Kneejerk, could be swayed.

Ghaleon (LSSSC - PC form only) vs. Galuf (FF5 - Assume Earth Crystal Jobs) - Assuming he's allowed equips from after he leaves... He comes in as a Samurai with Masamune (grants initiative) and !Mix (assuming you allow the mix level 2, which has the rather common Turtle Shell/Dragon Fang ingredients as prereqs). He has his choice of multiple unblockable statuses (assuming you see those hitting; I do), coming in with a Wall Ring/using the Dragon Armor for Reflect (if you see this working; I don't) ooooor just slugging Ghaleon out from here. With the initiative, Galuf mixes Haste Drink (Turtle Shell + Eyedrop). This allows him to get another turn (go init FFV haste?); he then throws out Dragon Armor/Giant Drink, heals until a double,  and then throws whichever of Giant Drink or Dragon Armor he didn't use earlier. 4x effective defenses against Ghaleon's spells is enough; Galuf then proceeds to physical or heal until he kills him.

Note this doesn't work if you don't allow mix level 2, but since the Chemist is the only thing that ever uses all those Turtle Shells/Dragon Fangs... well. I suppose this fails if you have high Ghaleon speed/damage respect? But I'd barely consider Ghaleon OHKOing, and with Shell or double HP he's not, to me. So.


Heavy:
Odessa Silverburg (S1) vs. Nicholai (SH2 - PC form only) - Has status.

Light:
Ted (S1 form only) vs. Alma (FFT - LESALIA FORM ONLY) - I respectfully submit that this battle is here solely so OK can orgasm over a Alma loss.

Taishyr: The problem with that analysis is that, to me at least, crystal setups all have access to Bare/Traveller. As such Masamune isn't legal because everyone can use it. Doubly damning is the fact that it's equipment after he leaves, as you note.

Probably won't change your vote, but I felt your argument was long enough to at least merit a response. <_<

(I drop Bare from consideration, as a note, because it's not actually from a crystal, to me; it's who they are and not the crystal. if it just said "galuf, take into account the crystal as well" then yeah, but "assume Earth Crystal Jobs" to me gives him those jobs and not bare. technicality? yeah, but it's the way I read it. besides, not inclined to shaft a job- the job that can use it, to me - just because the generic also can. if anything, generics can't use the unique shit, but the specific people can, would be how i rolled with it in the dl.)

Ghaleon (LSSSC - PC form only) vs. Galuf (FF5 - Assume Earth Crystal Jobs): I remember Ghaleon having some mid 3 digit damage when 2 Vigored Sword Danced Alex could barely break that.  He also was still level 99 vs. midlevel PCs with a Wind Cane (admittedly, horribly stats); Galuf is kind of screwed.
Lina Inverse (Slayers RPG) vs. Goku (DBZ:LotSS): Lina isn't a Godlike, *NOR* is she a temp.  She joins in the last stretch of the game permanently (which is about as long, relative to the game's length, as TotA's post Absorption Gate Arc.)  Being level 99 doesn't mean much when you have 4 other level 99 PCs.  Anyway, Goku is a Godlike based on his absolutely obscene damage and durability.  Lina's a fun Heavy (Lots of variety, good stats all around, etc.), but Godlike she is not.

For the record, Goku is technically not a Temp too! Granted, he only joins for the last two fights, where as Lina's there for the entire postZelas Arc, so yeah.

Anyway, for better plot analysis...Goku has 4,999,999 BP to an average of something like 1.3 Million (I don't know the exact value; just Piccolo is above average (1.9 Million) and Vegita is below (1.1 Million), in a game where this counts for Damage, Durability *AND* Evasion.  Lina can't really do squat to him before Goku gets his first turn, and Goku has a pretty clean overkill.  Yeah, yeah, OMG GOKU IS STUPID POWERFUL!! sounds like idiotic DBZ Fanboyism...but based on LotSS? Its kind of hard to argue this.  At worst, he's a variation of VP1 Lenneth with the GR.

Heavy:
Dark Knight Cecil (FF4) vs. Lezard Valeth (VP2 - PC form only): Not allowing Meth Seals today, so yeah.
Odessa Silverburg (S1) vs. Nicholai (SH2 - PC form only): Nicholai's stats were slightly above Karin's, which is by no means bad, of course...but Odessa's were similar to Tir's whose stats are...somewhat better, and Wind Rune to match.

Middle:
Shinjiro Aragaki (P3) vs. Canaan (XS3): Can't vote.
Milda (G1) vs. Asch (TotA - stick with his first temp appearance for this, i.e., the less laughable one >_>): Milda's damage was absolutely obscene at the time, from what I recall, and her HP was good too.  Asch was...Luke with magic, which isn't really a bad thing mind!  Maybe a few more skills putting him ahead of Luke on damage at the time to boot, but still, nowhere near the same level as Milda.

Light:
Ted (S1 form only) vs. Alma (FFT - LESALIA FORM ONLY): When in doubt, hype MBarrier > PC who didn't really stand out in anyway with no skillset <_<?
Luis Virgil (XS1 - PC form only) vs. Samson (AtL4): This fight fails.
