Ben Hyuga (SH1 - form that fights in the flashback scene with Wugui) vs. Valkyrie (VP2): Mmph, never sure how much I respect Valk. But Ben is holy-weak, and Valk has dark resist... meaning she easily 2HKOs at worst, and I doubt he 2HKOs back. (Czernoborg... deals about average damage however you scale it!) Don't see either as Godlike.

Heavy:
Spider (MMXCM) vs. Seymour (FFX - PC form only): Healing kinda owns Spider's strategy. Seymour's OHKO damage is irrelevant!

Light:
Sr-1 (BoF1) vs. BLACK FENRIR DEAN (WA5): Far from certain, but I imagine his damage is about average. Dean does like one third what Rebecca does.

Godlike:
Sesshoumaru (Inuyasha RPG) vs. Terra the Wolf (LoL1 - yes, shoot me now): Agreed with Super.  This fight is retarded, Terra is unrankable, my suggestion should have been in instead *shakes fist*
Ben Hyuga (SH1 - form that fights in the flashback scene with Wugui) vs. Valkyrie (VP2): Ben's only got Dark Innate and such in this fight.  As a result, Valkyrie's nailing a weakness...hard.    She's also got Toughness and overleveledness to give her the edge.  Oh, resists his damage too, to add insult to injury.

Heavy:
Donald Duck (KH1 form only) vs. Ellen (P2 - main game form, Nike only): Antivote! Donald isn't a temp in anyway, shape or form.
Spider (MMXCM) vs. Seymour (FFX - PC form only): I don't think Seymour had healing.  Spider's stats were pretty badass, and the invincibility should push him to the advantage he needs in this slugfest.
Edit: ANd I forgot about Bluff too! Yeah, skews things towards Spider's favor more.  Of course, if Seymour did have healing, then yes, the fight takes a complete 180.
Edit 2: And it sounds like he has healing, so analysis made pointless!

Middle:
Alonso (G3) vs. Beru (LaL): Damn you LaL having all these temps I can't remember!
Seena (L3) vs. Orin (DQ4): Kneejerk.

Light:
Sr-1 (BoF1) vs. BLACK FENRIR DEAN (WA5): Sr-1 scaled to the time has above average damage.  Sr-2 beats him, but the difference is pretty small; Nina, even with an Iron RP (which I don't assume; that thing is expensive to get, and requires leaving the dungeon in Nanai, buying it, THEN going back down there before its lost permanently), is noticeably worse. Dean's absolute garbage in every sense with Black Fenrir.  Damage is...what? 1/5th of Rebecca's?
Allen (XS3) vs. Jenna (GS1 form only): I think Jenna's damage was actually not bad during that small stretch of the game.

I thought Seymour had both some limited White and Black magic. Don't remember which specifically, but healing does make up a large chunk of White Magic (Cura...perhaps).

I'll have to make a point of adding its healing figure and cost to the stat topic when I get up to him on my replay, then. It's pretty inexcusable to not include a core aspect of his skillset... granted, with his OHKO damage and good speed there are many matches it wouldn't come up in!

On another note, Seymour badly needs a division swap with Ben or Valkyrie. <_<

Godlike:
Sesshoumaru (Inuyasha RPG) vs. Terra the Wolf (LoL1 - yes, shoot me now) - I'd view this as 'Terra always fights with earlygame Noa, if earlygame Noa dies, game over for Terra'. Terra heals Noa anytime she gets low on health. Sessh would have to chip around the healing limit or OHKO. I don't think he does either well -or- before Terra's damage does him in. EDIT: Meep's Sessh assessment has changed my mind, I didn't realize he was quite that awesome. I'm still viewing Terra as legal by pairing her with earlygame Noa.
Ben Hyuga (SH1 - form that fights in the flashback scene with Wugui) vs. Valkyrie (VP2) - Awesome fight that reminds me of MF6 for some reason.

Heavy:
Donald Duck (KH1 form only) vs. Ellen (P2 - main game form, Nike only) - No clue.
Spider (MMXCM) vs. Seymour (FFX - PC form only)

Middle:
Alonso (G3) vs. Beru (LaL) - Gah, LaL
Seena (L3) vs. Orin (DQ4) - Seena has some interesting tricks that I respect.

Light:
Sr-1 (BoF1) vs. BLACK FENRIR DEAN (WA5) - Awesome, Shovel Dean. Too bad he loses hard here.
Allen (XS3) vs. Jenna (GS1 form only) - This should have been Allen vs Shovel Dean.

Bonus:
Vinceborg (BSUaJGCOotHBS) vs. Gaff Gafgarion (FFT - Prologue fight form only)

I'm curious to know what that acronym stands for...

Alright, I finally decided to get off my ass and grab some damage averages for Sesshomaru, so here they go!

First off, it all depends on what you're taking.  If you take 0 Energy, Sesshomaru gains OHKO damage on Turn 3 with Dragon Strike.  No real arguing this; its 740 damage to an average below 200, even *WITH* him factored in.

If you take a 3 turn damage average...he still OHKOs with Dragon Strike, only now its marginal instead of overkill (740 damage to a 230 average with him factored in.)

If you take full Energy, his damage is 2HKO with Dragon Strike.  KEEP IN MIND this factors in 3 Energy Attacks that can only be used once with any real consistency, barring maybe Kagome who can turtle to use it again with healing.  Either way, its essentially the same as considering 100 FP Attacks in Wild ARMs games as the standard, so I'm inclined to not go by this average.

For the record, energy is similar to Grandia 3 SP, so seeing everyone start with full Energy is reasonable.  Just note that a few moves can actually be used more than once before requiring recharging (wouldn't you know it, Dragon STrike is one of those moves that can be used repeatedly; its silly, really.)

Regarding his stats...

Sesshomaru has 250 in every stat but speed, to an average barely over 100...*WITH* him factored in.  He has 777 HP to an average of...something not even a 1/3rd of that? His speed is 28 to an average of 22 with him factored in (oooh, look! A stat he's merely awesome in instead of sickeningly curve breaking!)

Chipping Ability? I think staff of two heads does less than his physical, but its still probably above average damage anyway knowing him -_-;  However, Poison Claws I think adds Poison status which should be enough.  He can also critical hit with anyone of his skills, and its likely this will happen long before Terra can take him down.  Do not underestimate Sesshy's durability; having nearly 150 points above average defense at worst, in a subtraction system, combined with about Boss Like HP on a PC...
Well, best way to put it? He's IRT Kaiser...without an upkeep, when it comes to stats.

So I ended up playing Live A Live.

Alonso (G3) vs. Beru (LaL) - Now, don't get me wrong, the cave-girl kills things quite handily with LuuLuu, but it requires a charge turn and guess what Grandia characters are specifically amazing at cancelling? I allow G3 characters to start with SP, so Alonso uses Thrush Crash and cancels Beru's OHKO if she tries that. If she tries to chip away at him with her physical and heal when she can, then he uses his physical to heal-lock and his big damage (Lancer Smash) to 2HKO when he doubles. Not that Alonso is particularly fast, but Beru's almost a Raquel-level slug. >.>
