Nah. She just seemed like the type of professor in email who withholds information because you're an undergraduate therefore you are not qualified enough in holding a decent conversation on the discourse in the book. Mentioning anything of the shortcomings would probably make her more quippy. She is the first professor who has yet to respond to me about asking questions about her work (though she responded to the first few emails around 4AM) probably because I didn't just up and ask them. But she didn't seem eager, etc - probably busy. Who knows. I feel like if professors require a certain expectation in emails to express yourself concisely, but in their response they don't respond to the gist of things but points you in a direction, they don't really want to talk to you. That's fine though. Perhaps the fact that the monograph was published in 2004, and it's almost now 2010 doesn't give her enough time to revisit her stuff. It's unfortunate because she's the only person to produce a monograph for this contemporary artist.

And I love Faith Ringgold's political pieces.
