Typo Crushes Youthful Spirit

At the beginning of the second week of every new season, it is RPG Dueling League (RPGDL) tradition to poll their audience to determine the best moment of the preceding season. This normally harmless exercise is usually just another way for even the most humiliated fighter to gain a little recognition, or a champion to further his fame. However, this week, a typo in the listing of nominated events, stating that Ronfar had not only advanced to Middle, but actually won the Light Championship, has caused more damage than any past mistake in listings.

Cecile, Guard Commander of Buheduc Castle and actual Light Champion of Season 12 was reportedly crushed after hearing about the poll, and left the arena in near hysterical tears.

“Yeah, she was looking chipper as ever, despite the fact that she lost her first match in Middle again,” said Juan, a combat instructor at Buheduc Castle. “Then they listed that Ronfar thing and she went stark white and started crying. Tried to calm her down a bit, but she wasn’t having none of it.”

Although the mistake was brought to the attention of DL Staff members, by the time they were able to announce a retraction of the poll and provide Cecile with proper credit, the damage had already been done.

“She looked like a mess when she got back,” said Thomas, Master of Buheduc Castle and close friend to Cecile. “She practically threw her title belt at me, crying as she told me to ‘Go give it to a real champ!’ Then she went and locked herself in her room, and no one has been able to get her out since.”

Although the entirety of Buheduc Castle spent all of Saturday attempting to calm her down, they have not yet managed to get her even say more than a few words to them, much less to leave her room. Even hearing about the correction has had no affect on the young girl.

“It’s a repeat of what happened the first time she was in. This was the last thing she needed,” Thomas said. “Letting a mistake like that get out makes it look like they don’t care about how hard she worked to train and win that championship.”

Reports indicate that Cecile has announced an intent to drop out of the RPGDL, as well as potentially giving up her position as Guard Commander. Whether these are just impassioned cries of a wounded girl or heartfelt claims remains to be determined.

Thomas has sent out a plea for anyone who might be able to help them calm her down to come to Buheduc Castle. Rumors also persist that he may be considering legal action if Cecile does not recover.
