There are times in Serge's journey when he felt like he was actually playing some weird game of Pokemon. He runs around collecting monsters in the form of PCs, and equip abilities on them that suit their fighting styles before sending them off to battle. But it's silly to compare his large group of very human friends to that highly merchandizable game, right? I mean, it's not like his party members can evolve, right?

Then he met Pip, Luccia's scientific experiment that wanted to travel the world, and any and all doubts were thrown to the ditch at sub-sonic speeds.

Pip, like the aforementioned collectible monsters, has the ability to change into forms much stronger than he started out in. Depending on how he battles, he can either become the magically attuned Angel Pip, or turn into the more physically aggressive Devil Pip. With such an unpredictable ability contained within his little frame, the duelers of Middle can never be sure what they can expect when they face the adorable little creature in the ring.
