Ward fits into a stereotype of silent, toughmen that hail from various RPGs. But unlike most of these men who merely do the silence to look cool and be mysterious, Ward actually had a throat injury that permanently sealed his voice off, and his only means of communication was facial expressions. He is a warrior by heart and was dedicated as a soldier in the Galbadia Army for many years before deciding to go with Laguna and Kiros on their adventures. He uses a unique weapon in the Harpoon, and heaves it at his enemies to attempt to kill them.
