The country of Ivalice is a land rife with corruption, its people willing to sacrifice their allies and friends for the sake of money and power. No more is this more evident than in the mercenary Gafgarion, a cunning yet cruel man who was willing to kill the people he placed under his wing for the sake of a job well done.

While he was eventually laid down to rest by the boy who was once under his employ, he had not changed a whit when he joined the ranks of the DL. Many a dueller who thought they had a sure win had often found themselves lying and bleeding under the arena lights, underestimating not only the knight's Dark Sword techniques, but his penchant to fight dirty if it gives him the match. While he rarely appears in the DL tournament, preferring instead to take jobs of a shadier nature, his duelling abilities are hardly ever questioned.
