Ah, it's good to be an RPG hero. Mullen is friends with a girl of an ancient magical race, has three beautiful ladies in his party at his beck and call, owns his own airship, gets to explore various ancient ruins, and even has a rivalry with his dramatic foil in Justin! In which he is assured to win all the truly dramatic confrontations, of course, even if he might be set back a bit at first.

..wait. Mullen wins the big confrontations at first, but loses later? But that can't be... does that mean... Mullen is the foil, and Justin the hero?! No, this is clearly impossible!

Okay, Mullen might have been off his game when he actually fought Justin, but the blade theoretically capable of dispatching Gadwin in cutscenes will surely do better in the Dueling League. Mullen's sword strikes can block the special moves of any on which it lands, and his Rising Dragon Cut is almost respectable damage. For fights requiring a bit of finesse, Mullen can even use WOW! to boost his attack, or offer a dab of healing to himself. He'll be back in Middle any time now.
