Chaz Ashley is the hero of Phantasy Star IV. Starting as a newbie hunter from Aiedo who takes under Alys' wings, he grows slowly into his task of defeating the darkness that slowly ingulfs Algol, taking the holy sword Elsydeon to protect the existence of the solar system.

In-battle, his darkness-slaying prowess is shown rather strikingly. With powerful physical damage, holy-based spells (including the very powerful Megid) and healing - along with instant death in his Explode skill - Chaz is a versatile and powerful dueller who should not be taken lightly.
