Pahn, unlike many of the many characters gracing the Suikoden series, actually has plot, depth, and motive. At first he is simply the loyal underling of Teo McDohl and his son Tir, but after Tir betrayed his father and country, Pahn began to question his intentions, and he ratted the kid out to one of his superiors. After a great deal of drama, Pahn finally came to grips with the fact that Tir did have a reason for leaving the empire and that he would be loyal to him, not to Teo. He eventually had to fight his former lord, which served to weaken him as Tir finished his father off. He remained loyal throughout the game as a retainer, but he will always be known as a man who thinks for himself.
