The Songstress from Hai Lan seems built to invoke pity. Blind and fated from a young age to sing brave warriors into a berserker fury which all too often lead to their deaths, Shiho could only find sympathy from a young warrior who fought with Hai Lan's enemies, only to be summarily slain after she surrendered. Coming into Valkyrie's service so close to Ragnarok, she was all too quickly thrown into battle once again; perhaps she was born under an ill-fated star.
In the Duelling League, fate once again has its way with the young woman. Even among the oft-mocked mages of Valkyrie Profile, Shiho is at a distinct disadvantage; she has never learned an attack spell. So what can a poor blind Songstress do? Heal. Shiho can heal indefinitely, so long as she is not burdened by any CT. Shockingly, sometimes healing has proved to be enough, as Palmer learned one fateful day. Shiho seems to finally have found some peace within the Duelling League, but that can only last so long, and battle is sure to call her name again one day.
