Saving Ensign Kenni

~Doma

It is written in the Earth Federation's charters that "no family shall be completely torn asunder". While it originally meant that orphaned children would be allowed to stay together in the case of their parent's death, legal precendents have increased its' scope. And now, the boundaries of this simple statement is going to be put to the ultimate test.

Six hours after recieving word of Captain Ronixis Kenni's death, Admiral Marshall gathered together an elite group of reserve soldiers. Their orders: to preserve the "no family" clause in the only way possible - to bring Claude C. Kenni home, by any means necessary. With their unique skills, and a liberal dose of technobabble, the squad of 8 has been transported to the surface of Energy Nede, where they will attempt to find the young ensign, and drag him home. Whether he wants to go or not.

The squad:
-Captain Gordon, pilot
-Captain Norris, reconnaissance
-Captain Cid Highwind, demolitions
-Hyuga Ridceau, electronics
-Caesar Silverburg, tactical officer
-General Brad Evans, front-line fighter
-Lowe, field medic
-Margarete Zelle, espionage

Failure is not an option. Either they come home with Ensign Kenni... or they don't come home at all.

  • Marshall's force takes the Ensign home
  • Claude gets home on his own terms, leaving the team up the river

Dark Lord Magus
Well let's see....you have an incompetent hero, a semi-competent officer, a rather compentent guy at blowing $%#@ up, someone with brains and a shiny sword, another person with brains and experience in the field, and a hero who isn't incompetent...against a nearly brain-dead ensign...yeah, I think it's pretty obvious that they drag his arse home.

Kenni gets saved: 27
Kenni saves himself: 23

You know. Dragging Claude home isn't so hard when you have Citan, Brad, and a nice tactical officer on your team.

So, Claude gets dragged, and Indy blows up the universe. Fun for everyone!

Hunter Sopko
You know that scene in Private Ryan where Tom Hanks is shooting at the tank with the pistol to get it to stop? Well, it's sort of like that, except Brad is firing a rail gun.
