Blade Shadowrunner
~DomaDragoon
My name is Jake Armitage, and I run the shadows. After the Drake incident, I had hoped to get out of this line of work, to make a clean break and live the rest of my life in peace. That didn't happen.
A few days ago, this Mr. Johnson sends me a message on the comm. He says he's from some corp called the RPGDL, and they've got an offer on the table. Seems that some drekky wizard had been doing some experiments with clones, and things went a bit out of control. Now, four of them, these so-called "Replicants," were loose. And guess who they want to geek them?
The four targets, code-named "Zidane," "Nei," "Ursula" and "Luc," aren't displaying hostile behavior...not yet, at least. Even if they did, they don't have anywhere near the power of the originals. But the corp's screwup can't be revealed to the general public, for matters of security. That's why they're sending in a runner.
It gets worse. The four replicants just happen to be versions of people in that corp, meaning that I have to make sure that I'm not taking out the reals instead of the replicants. It's not going to be easy, but it never is.

With no kill all replicants yet have mind so twisted and destroyed so as to be nigh non-functioning any more the only other option is for not all the replicants to be retired. Let's go with a classic ending and have Jake fall in love with the Luc replicant and escape the dystopia of Earth and fly off to Jupiter or something.
Jake succeeds: 18
Jake succeeds, cloning is revealed: 23
Jake fails: 17

I pity Nei, Ursula, and Luc. I really do. It's not thier fault really. They probably genuinely didn't want ANYTHING to do with Zidane. But with Zidane backing them up. They cannot possibly fail at losing. It simple math really.
Zidane=sucks-harder-than-a-black-hole
If we calculate sucks-harder-than-a-black-hole as ZS(Zidane's suckery) multiplied by 1/1000000000000000. Then numerically it equals roughly infinity minus one. Which because ZS is greater than this means that mathematically speaking ZS is greater than infinity.
Like I said. Nei, Ursula, Luc, I'm sorry. Maybe it won't hurt too bad...

We are pleased with the success of your mission. Retirement of all four replicants was confirmed by our lab technicians. Your pay will be wired to you imediately. If your services are required again, we will keep you in mind.
As for your concerns about the location of the original Zidane, please, put them aside. The target's original is a vagrant, and regularly disappears. We believe no foul play by the retired Replicant was involved. If evidence is discovered, however, then it only goes to show the importance of your mission. A 20% bonus will be added due to this discovery. Think of it as a troubleshooting fee.

As he finished with his letter, the salaryman smiled, and turned to the woman at his desk.
"All according to plan. There should be no evidence of any foul play, but if investigations are made, the Retirement fiasco they'll find is shady enough that they won't look for any further crimes. Now, as for the matter of your payment..."
The woman at his desk turned to the blond man, who smiled charmingly at her and released her gloved hand, which he had been holding affectionately. She then reached into her purse, pulling out a bag containing a substantial amount of gold. The man happily accepted it, and nodded.
"A pleasure doing business with you, Ms. Alexandros."
The woman then smiled, looking back to the affectionate face beside her, indistinguishable from the original, and nodded.
"Thank you. But the pleasure is all mine. It was worth every coin."
