DL Team Battles III Mullen - assisted, of course, by Sergeants Nana, Saki, and Mio - is off to recruit yet another turquoise-haired member of an ancient race with magical powers. Seems to happen fairly commonly around here. The Garlyle Forces are on the march; Mio earned an upgrade to Middle, and Mullen himself defeated a meddling sniper and some sort of weird creature to have success in Light. Every member has some variety, too, packing a range of physical and magical options - with the magical options conveniently not triggering the famed counters of their opponents. As usual, Mio will be the crux of the team, paralyzing and sleeping her opponents. Mullen can even offer some minor healing for her if she comes under attack. Once their opponents are helpless, perhaps a Trinity Attack from the trio will finish them off! However, Fire Emblem's ice dragons aren't going to take this lying down! Some of the most experienced and able knightly protectors have been recruited for their defense- specifically, Marcus, Seth, and Titania. While Marcus and friends have a famously... mixed... skill at battle, no one can deny that they possess one thing their opponents sorely lack: damage. Luckily for them, the most dangerous Sergeant, Mio, is also the frailest. It will be child's play for these experienced warriors to slice her to ribbons, then finish the rest of them at their leisure. If that wasn't enough, Nils, annoyed at being left out of the DL proper, has decided to cheer them along with some bardic music. Backed by his extra turns, they can't fail to win. Neither team are speed demons. But that's all right; this match will take place at its own pace. So who triumphs? The burning conviction of Mullen and his subordinates, or the experienced Fire Emblem advisers? |

SnowFire Well, let's see. Team Garlyle has one competent member and three pieces of utter dead weight. Team Fire Emblem has at least 3 halfway-competent types. Let's charitably assume that Titania doesn't double any of the snails. Let's also nicely assume that Mio survives the first wave of attacks and paralyzes a knight, and further more that Nana, Saki, and Mullen somehow manage to kill off Nils when he gets unlucky on his evasion every time. Additionally, no knight ever gets a critical. So, it's turn 2. One paladin is paralyzed and the other two have no support. Mio is still alive but absorbed 3-4 hits last round. Nana and Saki are pretty much dead weight for doing damage to the other knights, so they hang out, and Mullen maybe tosses some weak healing on Mio. To win, Mio needs to survive the two more hits coming at her this round, then the final hit from the remaining unparalyzed knight in round 3. That's seven fairly nasty strikes in total. Because when Mio dies, even if only one knight is left unparalyzed, the rest of the crew have pretty much no way of doing anything to their defense. So, did Mio survive seven swordy stabbings by skilled samurai? And wasn't Mio the frail one, again? Just goes to show that swords and lances may have something against yo-yos.
