Good morning fans, and welcome to the blitzball finals! I'm Gobi.
And I'm Bartz Klauser, and I'm still annoyed that I didn't make the swordsmanship finals.
Today's final pits two of the stronger teams in the tournament up against each other, which should be no surprise.
Right, Gobi, and the first team should be no surprise at all... after all, they're the world that invented blitzball in the first place.
The Besaid Aurochs are widely renowned for being Spira's worst team. But since they're the only team who has a registered DL member, they were selected to be Spira's representative.
And they haven't disappointed. After disassembling the Algo Attack and blowing away the Wyndia Wings, they're on the cusp of victory.
I can't believe that Nina thought it was a good idea to have herself in goal.
Team captain Wakka's roster shows a few changes from their last match. Keepa in goal, with Jassu and Botta on defense. Letty flanks Wakka to the right, and Datto's on the left.
Their opponents this week have been equally as impressive in their wins, especially given that this is their first tournament. The Filgaia ARMs showed no mercy in their destruction of the Highland Pigs, followed by a tremendous 9-0 rout of the Expel Slayers.
The lineup's the same as in the past two matches, and highlights a full-press attack. Goaltender Marivel Armitage is defended by Tim Rhymeless and Lilka Eleniak. Tournament-leading scorer Brad Evans plays right, captain Ashley Winchester plays left, leaving Kanon as the center.
Can the best of the worst beat the worst of the best? Will Spira be rejoicing tonight, or deep in mourning?
