This week, Garan fights a very interesting foe - and one whose best-known trick plays completely into the pillow-borne wizard's hands. Jade has won all his matches so far on the strength and single-minded use of his legendary attack magic, BoltX. And if it was possible to damage Garan with attack magic, that might worry the diminutive sage. As it is, Jade will be reduced to using his less-than-legendary physical, while Garan's array of elemental magics will be at full power. All Garan has to do is constantly hammer Jade with spell after spell after spell until he, like all the rest of the fools, succumbs to the power of the Baby-Head.

Jade's foes keep getting weirder and weirder. First he faced a deranged knight, then he fried an air pirate. His newest challenge is...a baby-headed midget who moves on a flying pillow? Appearances notwithstanding, Jade's in for a match a bit less one-sided than the ones that got him to the semifinals. Garan may be immune to Jade's brilliant BoltX strategies, but he can do very little against Jade's physical - which, while not particularly strong, is still good enough against Garan's weak defense. It even gets more powerful as Jade takes damage. Since he holds the durability edge in this fight, that power will see him through. There's more to Jade than BoltX, and he'll be happy to show it to Garan.

Y'know, Garan really has a thing for avoiding death. You end up fighting him twice, and once more if you do a optional sidequest. It eventually seems like the wrinkled little floating freak willl keep on popping up until the game is over. And since he's not an utter joke like most other SH bosses, this makes things even more hairy.
It's a shame that under DL rules his constant reappearing doesn't count, after he's pasted by BoltX, BoltX, and a whole heaping pile of more BoltX's. It must be a blow to his ego, too, that a self-proclaimed master of magic is undone by a simple spell spammed again and again and again.
But them's the breaks.
