*Four days before the match.*
"Ugh. Another Sephiroth victory, hmmm?" Kuja said.
"Of course. He always wins." Valvalis said.
"And we're stuck judging the match with the largest amounts of obnoxious tourists and people complaining about or cheering about Sephiroth's power." Bosch said, slashing a wall out of annoyance. "Why don't we just find some way to kill them both?"
"Because they'll kill us? Rather easily?" Valvalis asked.
"Then get someone else to do it. Or humiliate them. Whatever, just make the match more interesting." Kuja said.
"You know, that is an idea. We're the judges, it shouldn't be hard to have some "interference" occur that would ruin that fool Sephiroth, and maybe Magus too." Valvalis mused.
"And kill them?" X-Death said eagerly. "No." Valvalis answered. "Awwww."
"Quiet. We don't want them killing us. Let's go find some options to make this battle more interesting." Valvalis said, rising a bit tipsily from the bar table they were drinking at...
---
"I think I'd sooner turn you into rabbits than cross Sephiroth, you fools. But please, by all means, be sliced in half. I give my blessing." Lezard said, closing the door in Bosch's face.
"...Well, so much for X-Death's bright ideas." Bosch mumbled.
---
"AAAAAHHHHH-UMPH." Valvalis shrieked, as she fled out of TimeLord's Domain as fast as she could, only to be launched bodily out of the door, and a few dozen feet beyond, by a giant mech.
"...No?" Bosch said.
"...no." Valvalis answered.
"Can I kill it?" X-Death said eagerly. "...sure, go ahead." Valvalis said, watching.
"I don't know when TimeLord got a Warmech, but it should be interesting to see you fight it, so by all means." She added, just as X-Death launched his first attack.
And was promptly smashed a few dozen feet by a Nuke attack.
"Well, it was worth coming this far just to see that, really." Kuja said, laughing. "Let's try someone else, shall we?"
---
"No." Ghaleon said, shutting the door in Kuja's face.
---
"No." Piastol said, shutting the door in Bosch's face.
---
"No. And I will make thine regret thy foolish behavior. A-Tur! Won-Qu! Remove them." Fou-Lu said, shutting the door in X-Death's face.
"...Why would you let X-Death try to persuade anyone, ever, exactly?" Kuja yelled at Valvalis, as he ran.
"That's why." She answered simply, as A-Tur chewed on X-Death's head.
"...Okay, I suppose that's a good answer." Kuja said, watching the flailing X-Death attempt to defend himself from the mauling of a pair of Godlike hounds.
"We're out of places to turn to, though, aren't we?" Bosch said.
"...Well, there is one place." Valvalis said reluctantly. "But it's about the last people I'd expect to help us..."
---
"Sure, why not?" Yuri said, shrugging. "It should be interesting." He added, ignoring Edge staring blankly at him.
"...You will?" Valvalis said, stunned.
"Well, why not? This should get interesting. But don't bother asking about the plan, I don't have one quite yet." Yuri said, lounging back in his chair. "Just leave it to me. And leave."
---
"...Why the hell did you agree to that, Yuri!?" Edge yelled, as the four Godlike judges left the room. "What possible gain could we get from pissing off Magus and Sephiroth? It's not worth those four agreeing to throw matches for you. A promise which you know they won't keep."
"Oh, I'm not actually helping those idiots." Yuri said.
"...Okay, so why did you say you were?" Edge said, now extremely confused.
"Think about this for a moment. Can any of those four kill me?" Yuri asked.
"....No, probably not. They can if all four are together." Edge added. "They also can kill me, so don't expect me to bother with this unless you come up with a damned good plan here."
"Trust me, have I ever had a bad plan?" Yuri said.
"..." Edge said, staring at Yuri.
"Okay, how about this. Haven't I gone along with some of your more stupid ideas?" Yuri said, sighing.
"...hey! My plans aren't stupid! Fate just gets in the way of my brilliance!" Edge yelled.
"..." Yuri said, staring at Edge.
"...okay, look, what's the plan?" Edge said, shrugging uncomfortably.
"Anyways. No one of them can kill me. If they team up they can, those four are about as friendly with each other as a pack of hyenas, so that's not an issue. And we know some mages, and a high-powered liquid delivery system, right?" Yuri said.
"Right. So?" Edge said, interested.
"I haven't gotten that far yet. But I will by the time the match is on." Yuri said, smiling.
*Four days later.*
"Now all we must do is wait." Kuja said, watching Magus and Sephiroth enter the arena.
"Did Yuri ever tell you what his plan was?" X-Death said, frowning down at the match.
"...hmmm, no, he didn't. Well, we'll see soon." Valvalis said, smiling. "He'll regret it if he doesn't. We'll simply go over there and beat him to a pulp, now won't we?"
---
"There. Done." Brey said, wiping his forehead off.
"And you're sure this will work?" Edge asked. "100%. The water is perfectly enchanted. Solo helped me out with it." Brey said happily.
"Well, now, all we have to do is fire at the right moment." Yuri said, watching the match closely from a nearby portable TV.
---
It was a momentous match.
Magus was at the top of his form. His powerful elemental magic smashed Sephiroth over and over again.
Sephiroth, however, used his strong techniques to batter Magus down. Soon, his barrier faltered, and he was left vunerable...
---
"Well, it looks like the match is just about to be over. Now looks like a good time to fire. One shot, and those judges will be a laughing stock." Yuri said, operating the Creamonade's controls.
"And you're sure this thing can fire water normally?" Edge said, staring at the massive whipped cream producing cannon.
"Sure, why not? Liquid's liquid." Yuri said, shrugging. "Wait, you haven't tested?" "What's to test? At worst, it gives frothy water."
"..." Brey stood poleaxed for a moment at Yuri's logic.
A moment too long. As he started to shout a warning to Yuri, he pushed the final button, initiating the cannon firing process.
"YOU IDIOT!" Brey yelled at the top of his lungs.
"What's wrong!?" Edge and Yuri said simultaniously.
"Water isn't as thick as cream! This thing's designed to highly pressurize thousands of gallons of stuff that's harder to move around than water, and pressurize it to froth while it is coming out of the barrel, within fractions of a second! And you did nothing to take that into a-"
Brey was cut off by the cannon firing.
A massive cone of water.
"..." Brey, Yuri and Edge said, looking at the cannon.
"...You know." Brey said conversationally. "Magic guides that thing's aim, so it'll definately still hit the target."
"However, it doesn't do a thing for the spread or the force." He added, staring at the high-pressure rain in fascination. "It should probably hit the entire arena, hard enough to knock a man down."
"...and with the effects of Chance enchanted into it." Yuri and Edge said dully, as they watched the cone of water spray skywards...
---
The people in the arena didn't notice the first few drops, really, from when the machine first started up.
Sure, a few drops of water caught fire or exploded, but it was hard to connect this to the slight drizzle.
Then the main force of the cone hit.
And all hell broke loose.
---
"Hmm? Oh, it would be raining." Valvalis said. "And damnit, Yuri didn't come through, either." She added, watching Sephiroth smash Magus unconcious with a final Shadow Flare. "I'm going to go track him down after this, and you're all coming with me." She added, signaling that the match was over, in Sephiroth's favor.
"...Hmmm? A rainbow? From this little water?" Kuja said, staring up at the sky.
Then the water hit.
---
A massive impact of wind and water smashing across the entire arena.
Different parts reacted in different ways. One area of the arena simply disappeared into thin air, seats, people and all.
Others burst into flames, froze, were struck with lightning bolts out of a clear sky. Others were crushed to the dirt, flung into the air, or went totally mad from sudden, infinitely high pitch, elevator music ringing in their ears.
But perhaps the most common effect was polymorphing...
---
"Uuuuh." Valvalis groaned, coming to. "What the hell...I'm on fire. Oh, that's just great." Valvalis said, quickly spinning to put out the flames. "Now, where'd everyone..."
"Kupo!" A moogle said, backhanding Valvalis across the head.
"...do you want to die?" Valvalis said, slightly stunned that a random moogle would attack her so.
"Probably." A high melodious voice said from behind her.
Valvalis turned, to see a silver haired woman in a thong.
"You're the lucky one." Kuja said bitterly, tossing her wet hair out of her face. "You just got third degree burns. That's X-Death trying to beat you up." "The moogle!?" Valvalis said, picking X-Death up by the scruff of the neck. "And I can't find Bosch anywhere."
"This has to be Yuri's fault! Somhow!" Valvalis said.
"So? Bosch is gone and X-Death is a Moogle, and you can't kill him alone." Kuja said. "What do you mean, alone?" Valvalis said threateningly.
Kuja shrugged. "I think I'm happier this way. At least for now, as a trial thing. I'll get back to you when I'm more used to it, I don't think I like it as a steady thing, but it seems interesting enough for now..." Kuja said, walking off.
"...I shouldn't be surprised, really, but..." Valvalis said, staring after Kuja.
"AAAAAAHHHHH-ck." Bosch screamed, as he landed next to Valvalis.
"Oh, there he is." Valvalis said, watching X-Death wander over and start punching the still body of Bosch. "I wonder what happened to..." Valvalis started, turning to the arena.
To see a magically charmed Sephiroth making out with Magus' unconcious, repeatedly-lightning-struck, Imp form.
"..." Valvalis said, stunned.
"...okay, I think Yuri earned me not killing him based off that alone." She said, shrugging, as she walked out of the sodden and soggy arena.
---
"..." Yuri, Edge and Brey said, staring at the screen.
"...well, all things considered, this worked out well." Yuri said, walking over to the cannon.
"What the hell are you doing now, Yuri?" Edge said.
"Loading this thing with whipped cream. Viconia and Jessica fight soon." Yuri said, smiling.
Sephiroth: 87
Magus (Janus Zeal): 56
Jatsuya
The Masamune was a good factor in beating Magus in Trigger, and unfortunately for him, Sephiroth also wields it. Game over.
Caius
Magus got hosed on the draw.
