Back from a fresh championship, the lady Summoner from Spira is ready for another season full of evil overlords and absolute nutjobs! Speaking of nutjobs, Yuna's first new challenger in season 41 is quite the poster boy for inane madness: Malik Benedict, besides being a Prophet, is rather -oedipally- obsessive, being bent on reviving his dead mother for no good reason - at least, no good reason that wouldn't squick the mind. However, Yuna has little time to deal with Benedict's insanity. The Prophet will simply have to talk to her Aeons instead, while they destroy Malik with their status immunity and notable magical offense. It may be a cruel fate for a person this deranged, but Yuna knows that pity is worthless in the arena. It's time, once more, for the power of the Summoner to take over.

The Duelling League's premier blur returns this week, and squares off against one of its most decorated champions in a first-week match. Luckily enough for Malik Benedict, Yuna happens to be his most favorite type of opponent to play with until Mother calls him home... the kind that's vulnerable to Malik's wide variety of brutal status. Admittedly, she happens to be a bit faster than the hoi pallois Malik is used to dealing with in such a manner, but the general concept and the practical execution remain the same. The prophet simply needs to spread some misery around with Tri-Injury, and Yuna will lose all of her relevant skills, even her healing and unstoppable Aeons. All that will remain will be a little girl with a pathetic staff and an even worse staff arm, with no good way of hitting Malik.

"BoltX!" was heard as Jade fried Malik after being "summoned" by Yuna in the middle of the fight.
"...does that count as interference?" said Lyn from the judge's box.
"I'm not sure...do we even have guidelines for situations like this?" replied Arnaud.
Look, does it matter? The fight ended in a rather painless manner...well, except for Malik that is. And there was no actual incident. Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, the outcome is legit. Besides, he DID agree to being Yuna's slave, which makes him no different than rest of her Aeons.
"Wait, I thought that agreement only lasted until the end of last season?" replied Lyn.
"It did, but apparently Jade got severe mental trauma from being near Rikku for so long that...well, what do YOU think happened?" replied Arnaud.
Yuna: 55
Malik Benedict: 9
