Ryu, the eternal rival of Fou-Lu, returns this season to release some dragon rage on Godlike. And, while Ryu is Blue Bear to Fou's Vanilla Bear and has enjoyed tremendous success of his own, he always seems to be one step behind his dragon emperor counterpart. This obviously needs to be corrected this season by adding yet another Godlike Championship to his mantle. His first obstacle? No less than everyone's favorite, one-eyed swordswoman, Beatrix. Her terrible taste in men aside, she is totally the kind of chick that you'd want to just go have a beer with. Really, all things considered, she should give it up and just head to the bar early. Despite some great offensive abilities and healing, she just can't hold out against Ryu's endless dragon hordes. It might be an old strategy, but it certainly is a sound one. As the classic saying goes: “A war of attrition is always won by the army of dragons on his side.”

Once again the Alexandrian General graces the arena with her presence, and, if her opposition has learned anything by watching her matches, they’ll run before they’ll have to face Beatrix’s sword. Of course, if they aren’t smart enough to run, as seems to be the case with Ryu 4, she certainly won’t have any qualms with personally educating them. Between her PC form’s curve shattering Holy damage and her boss form’s body breaking physicals, neither of which Ryu can resist, the speedy Beatrix is an expert in taking down enemies in a single blow. While she may not have the sheer strength required to match a dragon one-on-one, all she has to do is knock out the sluggish human Ryu first, rendering all those extra HP bars and dragon breaths moot. Still, even if he manages to remain standing, the fight isn’t over. After all, in the endless battle of knight versus dragon, the knight is always the one to come out on top!

Swords flashed through the air, blasts of fire coiled across the field and slammed into pure holy energy lashed out by the Knight of Alexandria. Beatrix smiled grimly, before lancing forward through the haze and thrusting upward, impaling the young dragonkin.
"Heh. Gotcha..." Beatrix murmured as the hero's eyes blanked in shock. "A good fight, though."
And then Ryu's hands slammed around Beatrix's neck.

"So... Ryu the Fourth, who's actually the first or something like that, turned into... the Wyrm form?" Lucca asked with a degree of skepticism. Ryu the Fifth nodded.
"I guess I get it from him, you know? Or something. Hell if I know how I'm related to him. Still, apparently he's got the same form, and, well... you know why I don't bother dueling in the Arena." A slight shrug.
"How long will it take them to heal Beatrix?"
"Well, they need to find a part of her first. Sounds like they're banning that transform for him from here on out, too. Probably wise."
Ryu: 32
Beatrix: 26
