Season 23, Week 4
Luis Virgil
(Xenosaga: Der Wille Zur Macht)

The puny Mystic Lord now reduced to a fading memory, the Man in Blue turns his attention to his first worthy opponent this season: the Horns of Valmar. Long ago, Melfice halted Virgil's first journey in Godlike, and the time has come to even the score. Virgil's speed allows him to match the Demon-man blow for blow, while his hardened defenses make each of those attacks count more than Melfice's Wailing Soul Slash will. Virgil's time has come, and the chance to crush a rival along the way will be a fine toast to his certain victory.

The glories of Valmar once again lay waste upon the DL proper, with Melfice slaughtering everything in his path. Destroying Kato and Lulu was a light warmup, and just the thing to get one of Godlike's fastest ready for a rematch with a rival that always seems to follow in his footsteps. Virgil may be a respectable dueller in his own right, but Melfice's speed and damage hold all the cards here. Combined with his trademark buffing attacks to gain an even larger advantage while Virgil lags with his initial weak form, Melfice has nothing to fear.

There's nothing more epic than rematches, especially at the Godlike level. Fighters know everything the other has to offer, and the element of revenge. Hey, something has to give, right?!

Melfice, meanwhile, laughs at all of the talk and slaughters the man in blue with a couple of Wailing Soul Slashes. Nice to see some things don't change for the second winningest dueller in DL history.

Luis Virgil: 17
Melfice: 36

Tide
For what its worth, Virgil's role in his game plot was better than Melfice. Too bad that doesn't give him an instant win.
