He had a tough bout in the first round, but Rolf's had time to gather his strength and reflect on his next fight. Unlike his previous battle - against Zog, the amazingly durable king of the Dark Dragons - this is a simple test of his ability to inflict quick and lethal pain, not his staying power or magical reserves. His trump card Megid is well-suited to the task: the non-elemental blast can level a building, let alone a single, foolish woman. And the Vanish spell that won her fight against Citan won't help her at all against a magical assault. One quick blast will destroy Celes, and gets Rolf one step closer to a showdown with an extremely familiar evil in the semifinals. |

Celes Chere's latest foe greatly resembles her last victim. Both Rolf and Citan are government agents, and both use a mix of swordplay and strong magical capabilities, much like Celes herself. But most importantly, both have no way to deal with Celes's deadly status attacks: Muddle, Berserk, and Imp. Combine any one with Celes' Vanish spell and you have yet another easy win. Even if Rolf strikes first with his Megid spell, it won't help: Celes has far better magical and elemental defences than anything he has fought before. She just has to shrug off some punishment and claim victory; she's done it many times before, she can do it one more time this week. |
superaielman It was a short match. Rolf showed up ready to fight, attacks at the ready. Celes showed up dressed as a Numan, all the way down to the tiny, tiny outift. It was no wonder that Rolf was too distracted to do much but drool while Celes worked her magic on him. It was a quick encounter, but Celes is damn talented at that.
