Season 41, Week 3
Kratos Aurion
(Tales of Symphonia)

One down, three to go before Kratos attains the much-coveted championship of this highest of divisions. But the one before him now is not an opponent that Kratos would have wished to face along this road. There are few Godlikes more accomplished then Yuna, and Kratos is not among them...yet. A decisive victory here will show all of Godlike that Kratos means business. The ace up his sleeve here is, as always, the infamous Last Fencer, a weapon specially designed to kill humans in a single blow. And while her army of monsters might not care, all he has to do is cut the head off of that snake and kill the summoner herself to win. Kratos doesn't back down, not even from odds like this, and with the skill and determination of a veteran warrior, he WILL find a way to victory.

As a summoner of Spira and hope for an entire world, Yuna's used to pressure and stress. This may be one of her toughest battles yet. Kratos is a fearsome warrior without a doubt, and his swordsmanship and guardian of a holy warrior is sure to remind Yuna of the journey her father took. Yet...Kratos is not Jecht, nor is he Auron. He's just a swordsman with the powers of the Last Fencer and his own grit on his side. That's not enough to stop Yuna, the woman who grew so much in her journey with Tidus. Ifrit. Ixion. Shiva. Anima. Wave after wave of summon gives her the power needed to inflict her will. And while Kratos is powerful, he's not fast. That's going to be a death sentence against Yuna, who is nearly impossible to stop once her creatures come out to assist her.

Kratos vs. Yuna was expected to be quite boring, mostly involving Kratos being blown out of the arena by Anima. There were a few diehard Kratos fans, though, who speculated that Kratos would pull the complete unexpected and take Yuna down, surely a most unusual event.

When the match began, a most unusual event did end up happening. But no one ever expected it.

Not a single aeon was summoned. Kratos wore his best holy protection gear.

Yuna ended up winning the match after spending what seems to be an eternity bludgeoning Kratos with blinding staff whacks. Kratos was caught completely off guard, and was unable to penetrate Yuna's white magic defenses.

When all was said and done, Kratos had to admit he would have preferred facing Anima.
