Season 8, Week 1
Barubary
(Breath of Fire II)

Barubary, the Nightmare Demon, is ready to infest the RGPDL with fear. And with his vast array of abilities and gargantuan HP levels, he might just do it! Should his opponent this week, Lynx, decide to use MagNegate, Barubary can simply use his impressive physical attack. Should Lynx use PhysNegate, Barubary can switch to his lethal Bolt X spell. Finally, with his non-typed Fire and Ice Breath attacks to round out his arsenal, Barubary can match Lynx on every front. All Barubary has to do is press his assault and let his good damage and enormous HP see him through.

The avatar of FATE and controller of the Chronoverse since time eternal, Lynx is finally ready to step out of the shadows and into the Duelling League. The catman has several appearances to choose from, the most lethal being the possessed body of his adversary Serge. The invincibility of both PhysNegate and MagNegate means Lynx can play a defensive game against his foes, but if pressed, his offence might be even better. With Vigora to give him lots and lots of attacks, every high-level magic from Chrono Cross, and his own trademark Forever Zero at his disposal, Lynx is here to prove that the best Chrono Cross Godlike has been saved for last!

Does it even matter that Barubary is a strong fighter? Does it really matter that he's a powerful demonic servant of a false god? No. All he needed to finish this match was live up to his name as "Nightmare Demon", and infest Lynx's dreams with nightmares. Five nights of reliving his stint as Serge, Lynx entered an asylum, effectively forfeiting the match.
