Season 10, Week 4
Albedo
(Xenosaga Series)

Albedo is always brimming with confidence, but this week it's bound to have ebbed. His offense is primarily Ether-based, and a massive liability against Kuja's reflect. However, Demonic Illusion makes Albedo a fair bit faster than the bethonged one, which will likely throw Kuja off balance. And while Soul S may or may not provide Albedo with some reliable parasitic healing, it or Ruby Fist should do well to keep up with Kuja's rather unimpressive damage. Flare Star could prove to be a problem, but given the inaccuracy of that attack, there's still an excellent chance Albedo will walk away with the victory.

S

Though he proved last week that he is still the most beautiful of Godlikes by beating FF6’s stunningly gorgeous Celes, this feminine FF9 boss has more pressing things on his mind this week. His speed advantage, which is usually a given, is for once brought into question against his opponent this week. Of course, with all the other advantages he has, speed is a minor issue. His reflect makes many of Albedo’s tricks useless, and Kuja’s counters bring lots of pain to just about any fighter. Even if Albedo manages to put a dent in Kuja’s HP before he is killed, a couple of Curagas will fix that. All in all, Kuja looks to be on his way to his third Godlike title, League history in the making.

Kuja has higher base speed. Albedo can boost his speed to be higher.

Kuja has boss-immunity to Soul S. Albedo, having no level, is immune to Flare Star.

Kuja has crap healing with Curaga. Albedo has nasty damage with Fallen Angel.

Kuja has Reflect. Albedo's spells are not reflectable.

Kuja dresses like a slutty little girl. Albedo...well, we all know what he does to little girls.

So, Kuja has slightly more lasting power, nullifies Albedo's 3rd strongest attack, and gets first turn. Albedo keeps his best damage, nullifies Kuja's primary damage dealer, and has higher speed after first turn.

Geez, when you're facing a barrage of ~80+% attacks and all you have is 3HKO damage, you need more than a slight durability edge to win. For Kuja's sake, I just hope that Albedo can actually tell that he isn't a little girl (I know that I sure as hell couldn't when I first saw him, though, so I think monkeyboy might be having a busy night too).
