They laugh. They always laugh. Not this time though; this time, they will all feel pain - the pain of the crushing and the burning and the darkness. Oh yes, the darkness, feeding on their mind to take away their precious magical powers and skills. Not that he fears the magics of these pathetic, wretched creatures; his draining spells simply allow him to consume their powers and add their strength to his own, allowing him to further crush any foe. First comes the championship, then comes the repeat. Finally, there is the flying overhead and smiting the puny weaklings who laugh their cruel laughs. Without his Freeze magic, Geshp is nothing before the might of Garan; none of them are, and Garan will rule supreme in Godlike this season.

The ill-fated Geshp has always been matched against the best of Godlike. Fou-Lu. Yuna. Serge. Wait, Serge? Yes, Geshp is infamous for losing to one of the most-mocked Godlikes in the league's history. For seasons, the powerful Greater Devil has been tormented by the memory of that crushing loss, but now, he finally has a chance to earn some respect. Garan has a good record, but his magic immunity and MP-drain tricks are useless against Geshp, who has massive advantages in speed, durability, and damage, not to mention his potent double physicals have crushed warriors far hardier than this frail oracle. Geshp's reputation is on the line this week, and he has no intention of letting another easy win slip away.

It was a fierce battle.
Garan nulled Geshp's magic, had powerful magic of his own at his fingertips, and the ability to confound his opponent's mind with devious traps.
But Geshp had two powerful motivations, and dedication brings strength.
As Geshp watched Garan's battered form float slowly out of an exit to the arena, in defeat... he smiled broadly, for the first time anyone was aware of. Including himself.
Not only had Geshp struck a blow against being just "That godlike that lost to Serge.", he finally knew where to get one of those pillows.
Garan: 13
Geshp: 35
