Season 50, Week 3
Ryu
(Breath of Fire II)

His predecessor beat Myria. His successor beat Myria. Now, at long last, it is the second Ryu's turn. His show-stopping G. Dragon move usually is enough to clear out his opponents, even in Godlike, but Myria's durability is something even the mightiest of transformations can't crush that easily. Nevertheless, Ryu's sheer resilience and infinite healing powers should give him an advantage over his one-dimensional opponent. Couple that with Ryu's ability to counter even while taking damage, and he has the tools to eventually topple one of Godlike's fiercest competitors - after a few aeons or so.

Oh look, it's a Ryu. This place is practically crawling with them, isn't it? A goddess can hardly turn around without stepping on some blue-haired dragonboy or another. Or a half-dragonboy in this case. Ryu the Second is known for really just one thing: the overkill power of G.Dragon. Too bad for him that his precious "overkill" isn't anywhere near strong enough to take down Myria in a single blow, and he only gets that one shot. With her punishing physicals, the goddess of destruction will put this little whelp in his place in no time, and move one step closer to yet another championship.

History has shown that when Dragons and Gods from the Breath of Fire series go at each other, it only leads in catastrophic results. As a result, Ryu and Myria were not allowed to fight directly, but instead had to choose one friend.

Myria naturally chose her most trusted "minion" in Hrist. Why she didn't use the stronger Jade is a mystery...some believe its cause he lost several ranks after losing that bet to Hrist and being forced to become an honorary member of the NDF against his will, but that's an aside.

Ryu, unfortunately, had to choose Sten. Why? Cause he didn't have a lot of say in the manner. By which I mean Sten volunteered immediately and Ryu, being unable to speak, could not refuse it.

Needless to say, when you have a Goddess of Fate facing off against a Monkey Ninja-wannabe who has a...ah...less than successful track record...

...lets just say Ryu signed a forfeit for the match before it began, as he felt that would be the least humiliating way out of the situation.
