Season 19, Week 1
Barbarossa
(Suikoden)

After surviving season after season of ridicule and threats of booting, Barbarossa has finally made his debut in the DL! Bwahahaha, just in time to crush a puny Hero. As if the Golden Hydra's massive damage output wasn’t enough to destroy Suikoden IV's silly little main, the Hero’s own lifestealing abilities make this task even simpler than it already is. It took a far more fearsome Tenkai Star and five companions to barely beat him, so how in the world is this inferior one going to do anything to him? Now all he needs is this win to convince his haters that he’s a real dueller, and all will be good in Barbie land.

Defined by a True Rune that kills it's user, and a fighting style best defined as blitzing with status is the way of this Suikoden Hero. This will be a simple fight, as Barbarossa has no weakness to Voice of Death. That's okay, as Everlasting Mercy is an extremely painful attack that strikes at every facet of the Golden Hydra. Double Edge Sword pummels Barbarossa for several rounds after that, setting up the emperor for a beating at melee range. Once he burns, it's down to Barbarossa's blade against Hero's steely twin swords. His swords are sharpened and his focus is high, for the bearer of the Rune of Punishment is ready to leave a rather brutal mark on the Duelling League in his first match.

Barbarossa entered the ring, adorned with his full armor and his sword in hand. With a brief flourish, he raised his blade into the sky as the Sovereign Rune flashed with power, summoning a Golden Hydra to battle for him. The Golden Hydra roared with might and glowered upon the nameless Hero, silently promising him much pain before the match was over.

In response, Hero4 stuck two fingers into his mouth and whistled, summoning an army of ravenous mushrooms that immediately overwhelming the Golden Hydra with many, many, many toothpick stabs before attacking Barbarossa.

And thus, the battle ended, amidst high-pitched cheers of joy and horrified cries of "Oh my God, my ankles!"
