Barbarossa learned that no matter what power you think you have, the price of disrespecting the Rune of Punishment is high. Nina of Wyndia is staring down the same grim fate, as the Gaien knight prepares once again for war. Unlike last week, when he had to make do with just his damage-dealing abilities, the blisteringly accurate Voice of Death will be in play in this fight, and considering that the nameless hero he has a strong chance of getting the drop on Nina and casting his spell before she can even move, that's all he needs to end this fight with a wave of his hand, and move onto bigger and better challenges.

Nina's opponent this week is stronger than the last Suikoden warrior she beat; after all he bears a True Rune, even if it's one of the most maligned in Suikoden history. But being a rune-bearer also means he's a mage, and mages are Nina's preferred opponents. Her high Wisdom and element-halving Evil Robe, her magic-reflecting Wall spell, her never-fail silence spell Hush, and her ability to act first with any defensive spell...it all adds up to the perfect mage-slayer. With her usual bevy of magic, Nina has a trip to the Heavy semi-finals all tied up, after she dispenses Punishment upon the weakest of the Suikoden heroes.

If there's anything RPGs taught me, its this:
Heros, especially silent ones, have certain morals, one of those morals is "never hurt the cute little mage girl under no circumstance."
On the otherhand, said Cute Little Mage Girl tends to do whatever the hell she wants, which is often leads random physical punishment to take out her anger on said main.
...I fail to see why this case should be any exception.
