Season 27, Week 1
Menardi
(Golden Sun)

What a disgrace. After winning the title of Godlike champion by defeating such powerful beings as the goddess Myria, Menardi has been made the laughingstock of the entire Duelling League with her downgrade to Heavy. But now she has the chance to prove everyone wrong. With the powers granted to her by the element of fire, she should have little trouble in defeating the simpleminded martial artist with the power of Death Seize and Impact. And then it's on to her rightful place.

Finesse? Hah. Sabin's as far as possible from the stereotype of the refined fighter you'd expect at the Heavy level. He lacks tricks, skills, or anything approaching a varied assault for his battles. He is the living incaration of smash-your-face in, rude fighting. And it doesn't matter what you call his fighting style - Bum Rush is still an incredibly painful attack. Menardi's about to get up close and personal with it, far, far more than she'd ever like to, and she won't survive.

Taishyr
Sabin flexes muscles, Menardi convinces Sabin to help her light the lighthouses, Sabin escorts her off the field like a refined gentleman - then laughs his ass off as Menardi steps off the platform first.

Then Menardi blasted Sabin into the wall with a few choice spells. Still. Win's a win, no?

The first Godlike champ to be downgraded to heavy, Menardi is eager to prove herself--and probably can by instant deathing a few unsuspecting Heavies like Sabin.
