Season 37, Week 5
Raquel Applegate
(Wild ARMs 4)

Raquel's flashing blade has pierced through to yet another Heavy final, and this time she won't fail to claim the prize. Legretta may be a fearsome God General, but she pales in comparison to the elite of Brionac, whom Raquel has already vanquished. While the swordswoman would not underestimate any foe, she knows just how to take care of this one. Legretta may get fearsomely powerful once she's been hurt, but she can't use any of her good tricks at full health. This is her weakness, and Raquel will not leave it unexploited. With Moonlight to build FP without needing to attack and Intrude to let her make the most of it, the seeker of beauty can unleash a deadly chain of blows that could level a mountain!

The finals have rolled around once again in the DL Arena, and for the first time, a Tales of the Abyss character has fought her way into this prestigious position. Legretta, the second-in-command to Dorian General Van Grants and his loyal love, has used her impressive defense and brutal Miracle Artes to get to the finals, and now she faces an awfully brutal foe in Raquel. The blade that pierces the darkness can't realistically stand up against the power of Legretta's twin guns, and the very durable, hard-hitting God-General will be able to outlast her cute swordgirl opponent. After a few gunshots to the face and one dose of Prism Ballet, Legretta will be victorious over her very slow adversary, and finish her conquest of Heavy!

"No. We're not attacking Piastol this week."

..."no?! Are you crazy? We have Piastol on the ropes, geezer."

"I mean no. I'm deadly serious, Edge. The Godlike finals will be packed with overwhelmingly strong Godlikes, some champions and some not. Even not considering that you've personally pissed off about half of them, consider this. This is no half empty arena or middle match. This is the finals of the strongest division. Both of the fighters have multiple titles. Our best attacks will be torn apart by the crowd. And then we'll have to deal with the judges. For just this week, play it cool and plan. We'll have another whole season to tear apart Piastol."

"Season?"

"I've fought both. Seph is outclassed in a big way by Piastol. She's going to win and make him very, very sorry for all the troubles you've given her this season."

"Bah, damn it. What's the point if we can't end it now? I don't want that manless freak to take down a title."

"Think. We'll have another whole season to make her miserable. Ramriez has been handled. Galcian.. they're still trying to piece him together after last week. Rydia's been avenged. Let it go for a brief while. Besides.."

"Besides?"

"I have a.. downgrade pool.. to worry about. I'm going to go scout Miss Applegate and Legretta. I don't expect trouble from them, but preparation is how you win battles. Go spend some time with that lady friend of yours who can do far better."

"..You know what, geezer? Fuse is gone. Galcian is dead. How about we break off our little alliance? I'll go look for myself. I'll deal with Piastol myself, you loser!"

"Fine by me, boy. Just don't go crying when you get cut to pieces by Luca or Kefka."

Orlandu walked off from his meeting with Edge. In spite of the Ninja's harsh words, he was fairly sure Edge would listen to him and not press the matter. Rumor had it that Demifiend was being brought in to provide security. He wouldn't get close if he tried.

Ah well. It was fun to teach a pair of villians like Ramirez and Galcian a lesson..

---

Edge fumed at Orlandu's words, pacing around his room while looking at what he said. The more that he picked at it, the more likely he thought the Geezer was correct. Messing up a Godlike finals was a big challenge even for him, and the prize of failure.. Edge shuddered. The rulers of the DL universe would make him wish he was Dario caught in a forest fire by the time he was done.

Plus, Rydia had finally healed back up and promised to be extra nice to him for beating down Galcian. With a rather lecherous smile on his face, Edge began to jog to Rydia's quarters. Yes, Piastol could wait another season.

---

Raquel was surprised when Orlandu showed up in the arena. She was going to have to try and go through him to reach Godlike. In spite of his help last week in dealing with Galcian, she hasn't expected him to show up.

Orlandu merely waved and sat down in the front row, ignoring the buzzing crowd around him.

A bullet flying by her got her attention back to the fight. Legretta was a serious threat, with powerful attacks and a brutal limit that would make even Raquel flinch.

She had one small problem. Her attacks all required taking some damage to unlock. Two moonlights gave Raquel the FP to use intrude twice.

Poor Legretta didn't even make it to the second Intrude before passing out.
