Ted's lived a long time and met a lot of people, from Lazlo, bearer of the Rune of Punishment, to Tir McDohl, the boy he would eventually give the Soul Eater Rune to. Ted never got to know Flik, unfortunately. Though he knows Flik is a good friend of Tir's, he has to put that aside for this match to focus on what is important: An RPGDL Heavy title! For Ted, this is a relatively simple match. A single Darkness Finger from his legendary Soul Eater will really be all it takes to down the Blue Lightning. It's nothing personal, all business.

Fresh off a season-opening win over the Sacaen Swordmaster Guy, Lightning Flik is ready to take on a fellow representative of the Suikoden universe. His opponent may have the power of a True Rune, the famed Soul Eater best known for being used by his friend Tir, but the speed that earned Flik his nickname will ensure that that power never comes into play. One quick spell from Flik's trusty Lightning Rune will be more than enough to send Ted packing and propel Flik to the semifinals, one step closer to his inevitable Heavy title.

Flik blinked.
Ted?
He was fighting Ted?
"Isn't he dead?" Flik noted. "And wasn't he kind of weak to start with?"
Viktor shrugged. "As near as I can tell, they dredged up Ted-from-150-years-ago." "You're kidding, right?" "How long have you been here? Haven't you been here long enough to see the giant armored hedgehog turtles-all three of them? Not kidding."
"This is why I don't go out much." Flik shook his head annoyedly.
"Look, all he does is use the Soul Eater to trash things. You know what that does." Viktor said with a sigh. "So the solution's pretty obvious."
"...When you say that, I start worrying." Flik sighed.

It was over quickly.
One brilliant stroke of energy, and Flik's opponent was down.
"...this isn't going to count." Flik noted, as he stood over child-Ted's unconcious form.
"Why not? A fight's a fight, isn't it?" Viktor noted. "All thanks to this sword, which was useful for on-hey, stop biting me!" "Idiot. Now go put me in that river. I need to wash my mouth out, you taste like formaldehyde." "What's th-" "River. You." "Yeah, yeah."
---
It was over quickly again.
Flik sighed, and crumpled to the ground.
Naturally, he was right.
Viktor's plan hadn't worked.
Of course, the pent up anger of hundreds of years had only made things worse, though.
As Ted blasted Flik's unconcious form into oblivion, he cackled maniacally.
Childhood grudges are a great source of power, after all.
Ted: 42
Flik: 13
