The summoner from Mist is back once again! Rydia knows the Duelling League well, even being a Heavy runner-up - and this time, she'll make sure that she goes all the way. To her chagrin, though, her adversary will probably be the most difficult she's faced yet. Maya's magic immunity will force Rydia to abandon her usual summon-nuking tactics, but Rydia can still put up a decent offense with her Dragon's Whisker. A grim situation to be sure, but now's not the time to lose hope. The situation was grim when Golbez annihilated Cecil's party, but Rydia miraculously saved them all. Who's to say the Mist summoner isn't overdue for another miracle? |

"Let's positive thinking!" It's been a while since the arena resounded to that charming phrase, and one should do well to heed it: the speaker is a former Duelling League champion. And Maya has good cause to be optimistic about her chances for success this season. The proof? Her first opponent, the summoner Rydia, is a pure mage, and Maya's persona Artemis renders her immune to magic. Of course, it also makes her weak to physical attacks, but Rydia's physicals are terrible. Besides, Maya has a plentiful supply of healing to keep herself in the game. Maya's opponents may as well heed another bit of advice: "Grab your asses and run!" |
Taishyr "Pop star... Child Rydia?" Ulala asked quizzically, flinging the paper aside with a glance at Maya. "You have a weird way of winning matches." "Eh, I figured I'd do something productive with my time and get a win out of the deal. Not like I stand much of a chance against Hallec or Ashley..." Maya smiled. "Besides, she's really got a dazzling voice." "...you're just hoping whoever you're facing is too addicted to music to come to the match." "Guilty as charged, but hey, let's think positive <3" Maya winked. Ulala rolled her eyes, before picking the paper back up and flicking to the classifieds.
