There's lots that can be said about Id. His massives speed advantage, for one, which will take the wind out of Nel's sails something fierce. His damage, for another, which can easily 2HKO his comparatively frail opponent, forcing her to either heal or die. His evasion, which will keep Nel from doing enough damage to take him out in time. His defense against magic attacks, which willl be helpful if Nel tries to stay away and try Symbology attacks to wear him down. Or his own Ether attacks, to repay Nel with her own coin. And, of course, his HP score, which dwarfs that of his opponent. All this and more can indeed be said, but why bother? The only thing that needs to be said is that he's going to win quite handily.

After displaying, for three matches straight, every single skill learned from her time as an Elicoorian soldier, it's time for Nel to perform an elegant, quick coup du grace to wrap up a successful run. And, against Id, it's quite a fitting end: known for his high-speed blitzing and absolutely awful durability, the dark fighter will need to perform a miracle to succeed against the assassin's own swiftness. After all, while Nel can survive one single round of Id's assault, he cannot say the same. As such, well-placed Mirror Slices will tear him apart, even if he makes a number on his opponent beforehand. Elegant and deadly, Nel will leave her mark and claim a Heavy championship this time. Just as one would expect.

Frankly, Id's win was inevitable. He even gave Nel the first few moves, before proceeding to interupt her combo. However, some more careful (though that's an understatement, given the speed of the movements they were looking at) observers noticed that those first few seconds were spent by Id punching himself in face. Only Id, Fei, and any psychics foolish enough to look into Id/Fei's rather messed up mind know what really happened. One psychic who was crazy enough to do such a thing confided (after being assured that his name would not be released for fear of retaliation) that Id had been planning sexual assault on his opponent, before Fei took momentary control to... convince him against that course of action.
Of course, one cannot blame Id for such thoughts, given his lack of moral restraint, and Fei's action must be applauded (though, had they been discovered earlier, might have caused disqualification), but one feels curious at just who mailed Id various hentai pics of Nel the night before the match...

Nel was gloomily sitting in her small room in castle Aquaria, deep in thoughts. No clever plans were comming to her this time. She couldn't really ask for advice either. She knew Tynave would only say "Punch him in the face!", and Farleen would likely come up with a long detailed plan that, while it might work, would force Nel to listen to her for an hour. No victory is worth that pain. As for Clair... Nel didn't want to appear anything less than confident in front of her, so she couldn't ask her advice either.
Nel always believed that hard work, preparation and training could lead you to beat the hardest of foes. How could she train against that man though? He's faster than her, and he hurts like nobody's business. She's facing pretty much 1/3rd of a man instead of a whole one, but that wasn't really helping her.
If she was like Sophia or Pepitta, she could try to calm Id down with fluffy bunnies and rainbows so he reverts back to *spoilers witheld*, but Nel's experience toward being cute was drastically limited and she knew better than to try a last-ditch attempt at it. Beside, that'd pretty much destroy her cool, cold commanding facade she's been using for years. If she could only train a bit beforehand... A fast, evil man that enjoys hurting innocent, boiling with perpetual anger while looking 'cool' (ridiculous more appropriate as Nel is concerned), using his hands and arms, with ether energy and able to emit waves of power... Nel's eyes suddenly lit up as she stood up and grabbed her blades. There was some training and preparation to be had.
---
Nel stayed on the defensive and sidestepped most of Id's attacks, making him angrier and overcommiting his strikes more and more. Nel winced at the blows she didn't manage to avoid. "Just like training... Just like training..." repeated Nel mentally as she took one hard hit. "Okay, he's harder and faster than the other in training, but it's the same pattern, same thinking... He should mess up right about... now!"
Id overextended his last attack far too much, putting him completely off balance. Just as she had practiced an hundred times, Nel jumped at him, slicing his neck in one deft motion.
"You people are all the same." said Nel to her collapsing opponent as she wiped off a bit of blood from her own mouth. "Evil angry men hurting innocents, thinking yourselves invincible with egos the size of mountains... You are nothing more than another Albel!"
Nel still felt slightly guilty about chopping off Albel's good arm and replacing it with a second clawed hand, and also about killing him and reanimating him over an hundred times in the past week, but Albel had sort-of agreed to it. Well, not so much agreed as that he was beyond angry and attacked her the second he was resurected every time, but it made for perfect training against Id. Those evil berzerk maniacs all acts the same... But of course what she did toward Albel wasn't evil, it was in the name of Aquaria... right? Clair wouldn't like evil...
Nel finally decided to give her entire DL earnings toward getting both of Albel's arms fixed so that she would not fall into evil (And the ensuing stupidity that seems to be linked to it.)
As for Id, he was greeted with Porom, Palom, Relm, Pepitta, Mack, Cooke and a Dragon Warrior slime so that the cuteness overload would calm him down. The results are better left unsaid.
