After having proved that a True Rune is better than an Origin in a straight battle, Hugo is going into his next fight his with youthful spirit on at full blast. Kornell the barely competent evildoer has had a good run so far, facing opponents that play to his style, but he’s not had to face the power of a True Rune. Of course, it won’t only be Runes that are crucial to Hugo’s win, but also his S in Repel. Since Repel also blocks ITE attacks 70% of the time, Kornell’s normally perfectly accurate attacks will have trouble landing on Hugo, giving the young Karayan plenty of extra time to unleash his potent spells or his rapid physical strikes and cut the muscle-bound brute down to size and take another shot at the finals, True Rune ready.

KORNELL SMASH GOOD! This has been a dream period for the mighty Kornell and his beloved morningstar. The reasons are obvious - went from a loser beaten up by a bunch of kids in his game and in the League to a Middle champ who now attempts a shot in a Heavy semifinals? He's not about to be interrupted from his streak by another punky kid! Hugo may have a lot more offense and variety than your garden-variety underage boy, but he's no match for the power of KORNELL BUSTER! And even better, Kornell can bypass the Karayan's dodginess with his best attack, hitting that woeful physical defense. Now, it's just a matter of time until he gets that coveted double championship and shows the League who's boss!

It was a rare day for the RPGDL. Inspired by Dorcas and Hawkeye's battle, Kornell and Hugo actually agreed not to use any magical flimflam abilities or what have you and go at it in a most manly and traditional way.
They also agreed to make it a real match of brawns, and through some odd mechanism not even FuSoYa understands, the two also discarded their game mechanics, so that "evasion" just meant "get the hell out of the way of the morning star" and "critical hit" equated to "you have a morning star in your family jewels".
After a heated battle where neither warrior really hit the other--although to Kornell's credit, he really really tried, and managed to keep Hugo away for a long time--the Karayan warrior finally decided to break tradition a little and make use of the freedom gained from breaking the system.
That is to say, he decided to be unconventional and, before Kornell could complain that it was -against Suikoden 3's mechanics-, Hugo tossed his knife in Kornell's face.
Everyone went home satisfied.
... well, except for those people who had wanted to see some wacky dance-off, or crossdress or otherwise insane competition, but you can't please everyone.
Hugo: 33
Kornell: 11
