Hugo hoped to face that snooty Ironhead in the finals, but it seems Edgar has already taken care of him. Oh well, there are more pressing matters at hand right now, such as this match. And with his youthful spiritful, and more importantly, a bevy of runes and skills, Hugo has the tools to take down the prince of Figaro too! While the Yellow Scarf's status immunity can keep him safe from Edgar’s Confusion, his Air Anchor is still a threat, so it’s an instant death race! While Hugo’s Funeral Wind may not be a fast spell, its advantage of working instantly trumps Edgar’s deadly trick. Of course, Hugo could also opt for his physical and blitz the king. With two options at hand, Hugo surely will win this season's Heavy.

Status whoring? Pish. Edgar is the king (literally) of status strategies, mastering the Air Anchor and Noiseblaster when Hugo was still a gleam in his yet to be discovered father's eye. All that stands between Edgar and a title is one round of Hugo's attacks. His True Fire Rune's spells are entirely negated by Edgar's Red Jacket, and one physical chain isn't even close to enough to do in the (rather durable) King. All of Hugo's hopes rely on hitting with his unreliable Wind of Sleep spell, made less accurate than usual by Edgar's magic evade boosting Enhancer. As Edgar avoids one status attack, he promptly confuses Hugo, and then watches as Lucia's son cuts himself to ribbons. A noble victory, well past due for one of the true gentlemen of Heavy.

A sound.
Winning a championships.
This was humiliating.
Degrading.
Ridiculous.
Even if one loses, one should lose with dignity.

"...huh. They both had the same idea?" Geddoe asked, as Hugo, mounted on Fubar, wielding the True Fire, True Water and True Lightning Runes, was completely vaporized.
"I'm not sure why Edgar though amplifying the Noiseblaster was any more dignified a death, though." Locke replied obliquely.
"Well...there is a sort of dignity in dying in a calamity that destroys half a stadium." Joe shrugged. "Man, scraping the boy up after that is going to be a chore."
Hugo: 21
Edgar Roni Figaro: 34
