Season 52, Week 2
Daos
(Lufia Series)

Sinstrials specialize in inflicting death, confusion, and terror. Daos is the master of terror, and unquestioned ruler of the Sinstrials. A wave of his hand brings death, his cursed divinity being the ability to spread terror the way other men spread joy and love. The pleasure in suffering is drawing out the pain, which is what Daos will be doing here. Dark Reflect shuts down the sluggish guardian's sad attempts at offense, and Daos has blistering physical and magical attacks to back that defensive game up. Or, if he doesn't mind spending more than fifteen seconds wiping Auron out, Daos could just opt to ignore all that and slowly kill his foe with Terror Wave, drowning him under a wave of status attacks while savoring his rising fear and hopelessness.

Legendary Guardian. Heavy Champion. Auron has never been a man to be satisfied with doing something but once. It's been many years since he last sipped the wine of victory from his sake jug, as he pulled apart the division with ease in Season 12. Now this pompous Sinistral seeks to challenge him? As usual, Auron's ability to destroy his opponent's offence while simultaneously dealing damage will ensure him a slow but inevitable victory. Doubly slow this week - Daos is a slug to rival Auron himself, and unlike the Guardian, doesn't have First Strike to make up for it. An opening Magic Break, a closing, deadly swing from the low-HP-powered Masamune, and all between it will tell the story of Auron's advance to the second round.

These two have a lot in common. Both have some red on them, both have died before, and, once Daos is finished, both will have had their asses kicked by a (however brief) bearer of the Dual Blade. Yeah, bet Mr. Unsent wishes he'd gone for something like that instead of yet another sword called the Masamune. The Sinistral of Terror takes the win.

Daos: 36
Auron: 21
