Season 54, Week 2
Geno
(Super Mario RPG)

Two stargazers, two travellers of the great beyond, two stalwart guardians of the universe. Geno and Demi have many similarities, right down to their non-organic nature and the immense responsibilities placed upon their shoulders. However, the caped starman is capable of harnessing the very power of the skies within his tiny build, while Demi's equipment may be even impressive, but lacking in the ethereal mystique given by the very Ursa Major. As such, Geno's superiority will be proved quite fast in this match: after a single Geno Boost running off his breakneck speed, Geno will easily outpace Demi's self-repair systems, and a couple of Geno Flash castings should burst her somewhat magically inept frame into a conflagration very quickly. The power of the stargazer is not to be trifled with, not even by another guardian of space.

Galactic Android vs. Mystical Doll with super powers from the heavens! This match is... certainly very unusual, and hell, you couldn't see it anywhere other than in the Duelling League! Seriously, who could come up with an idea as nonsensical as... oh, right, how the match actually goes! Demi's doll-like opponent relies primarily on magic damage, so naturally, a casting of Barrier will do wonders. After that, the tiny android girl is set for the match with all that healing, especially since her opponent has far more limited resources than she does. Geno Whirl's deadly slicer waves could put her down, you say? Well, being a well-built little android, Demi laughs at conventional means of instant death like that, and will Phononmezer Geno into oblivion for even trying! Pretty routine fight for the Guardian of Zelan's first fight this season!

Gatewalker
Geno was looking his loss in the face. With electronically enhanced targeting systems, Demi's accuracy was amazing. That last shot had been nearly picture perfect. With only one shot left to him, he knew he couldn't afford to settle for 'near' perfection.

Carefully taking aim, Geno morphed into a cannon...and fired.

There were many obstacles in his path. Tiny meteorites closing in, the asteroid his target was placed on floating slowly away even as he aimed, lasers randomly criss-crossing the gap in between. But the bowling ball flew on. Through the meteorites and lasers without being so much as scratched, straight towards the target as if drawn by a magnet. Would it connect? Would the asteroid's subtle movements cause him to miss?

No! The crowd watching the match on television went wild as all ten pins were scattered into space by Geno's perfect shot! Geno howled with joy as his robot fans gathered around and lifted him into the air, truly the true champion of Extreme Space Bowling!

As her opponent celebrated, Demi faded quietly into the background. Her time in the spotlight was now over, and she had a job to return to.
