The Rainbow Phoenix cannot be content with a single victory, not while its counterpart has been felled by Speed Racer cosplayers in the higher divisions! No, Ho-Oh must become the best Heavy dueller ever! The next in its quest is the every-tricky Edge, the DL's master of disaster. While history has shown that Edge is not at his best against walking forces of nature of the Fire variety, one should never underestimate the Eblan Prince. Still, with Ho-Oh's durability and Sacred Fire's capacity to burn the young ninja, sapping his strength and slowly whittling him down, allowing Ho-Oh to simply Recover for the rest of the match, Ho-Oh has all the advantages here. |

This fire burns for Edge. The sacred power of Ho-Oh's flames doesn't scare the crown prince- after all, was it not Edge who stared down Rubicant and helped bring him down in combat before ever setting foot in the DL proper? Edge has a hell of a lot of success in Heavy at this point with his usual blitz tactics- in fact, Edge bested another Pokemon legendary in Groudon the last time he appeared with surprising ease. Ho-Oh has no protection against Edge's status attacks, and his defenses are useless against his Fuma shurikens that will follow on the heels of a Catclaw strike. It takes more than being merely 'legendary' to stop or even slow down a troublemaker like Edge! |
superaielman Edge's entrance into the arena was silent and graceful; typical for the prince when a lynch mob or Piastol wasn't chasing him for all he was worth. The question of how to handle Ho-Oh was easy enough, as the legendary bird had no more defense against his Fumas and Catclaws than Groudon. Or so Edge thought. Ho-Oh was equipped for bear, as the bird had taken special training in Kanto with other legendaries. The bird had reached his maximum potential, and had been gifted with an alarm clock, which completely blocked his sleep status. Edge's bitter complaints to the refs about Ho-Oh cheating and bending the rules was met with laugher (Luca Blight), taunts (Shijiro), and recommendations for a warmer climate for the Prince to visit after the fight was done (Jogurt).Edge, in complete frustration, screamed to the sky about 'both he and Ho-Oh being struck down with Lighting if this was fair!" On cue, bolts of thunder ripped through the arena, pummeling Ho-Oh and Edge both. Ho-Oh was superior to the prince in most stats, except for thunder resistance and speed. The thunder staggered poor Ho-Oh and took far more out of him than it did Edge, and leaivng him easy fodder for a quick Fuma to the throat and an easy win for Edge. Pissing off deities on a regular and thorough enough basis to be on 'Asgard's most wanted' list has it's advanges. Ho-Oh: 18 |
