Season 56, Week 1
Pamela Ibis
(Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis)

Elly may have seen many things over her many lifetimes, but it’s doubtful that any of them have prepared her to face a ghost like Pamela. Granted, part of that is because there aren’t many ghosts around that with such a whimsical sense of humor. But part of that is also because Pamela completely nulls physical attacks and their attending status, meaning that Elly’s Lunar Rod is completely useless. Sure, Elly has magic attacks, but their lackluster damage means that Pamela, with her draining attacks, will never be in danger of death. Well, in danger of real death considering the fact that it's rather hard to kill someone who's already dead.

Elly has an interesting job this week: help a dead soul along into the next life. Such a task is fitting for a woman as saintly as Elly is, but unfortunately the qualities of a religious figure are not what are called for here. What IS called for is a healthy dose of the Lunar rod's sleep, which works even if it misses the target, and plenty of deadly ether skills. As long as Elly can put the smiling ghostgirl to sleep, she can win this match hands down. And hey, if the Lunar Rod won't work, Elly can always try giving Pamela a lengthy sermon! If it works to put little kids to sleep at church, it will DEFINITELY work on the childish immortal.

Bardiche
"That was brilliant!"

"Hahaha! Of course it was!"

Flay's proud figure was unmistakable. The leader of the workshop had once again proven his superior intellect... or at least that his crazy plans did sometimes work.

What was the plan, you ask?

Well, it came out that Elly suffered some guilt over things she had done in her past. Apparently it still hounded her a little in her nightmares, and she just couldn't shake it off herself.

So Flay proposed that Pamela gave the evil sinner her just desserts. Pamela, quick to catch on, agreed, and with some effort from Vayne and Roxis, they made Pamela an outfit very similar to Elly's.

Pamela dyed her hair, and then went on to haunt Elly the night before the match.

Suffice to say, the day of the actual match Elhaym van Houten could not attend. Her psychologists deemed her unable to--the cause was allegedly the 'spirit of her past self' coming to 'chastise her' over her 'past mistakes'.

The judges all agreed to let Pamela pass to the next round, as not a shred of evidence could be found that Flay couldn't refute. Given the jury was compromised of Souji, Sephiroth and Ryu4, perhaps this is not so surprising. After all, not one of them is known for their particular verbal insistance and zeal in discovering a ghastly truth.

One Fei Fong Wong has gone on appeal.
