Season 16, Week 1
Erim
(Lufia Series)

The Mistress of Death is ready to exact her revenge against her opponents this season. Embarrassed at having been downgraded to the lowly cesspool of Heavy, she will be fighting ferociously. However, this isn't to say that she will win matches quickly. Rather, that she will exact all the pain she can on her opponents before they die. Since her Lufia 3 form brutally slaughters Articuno in one blow with Absorb X, and Mirror protects her from all threatening attacks, Erim may very well use her weaker Lufia 1 and 2 forms in order to painfully kill the lowly Pokemon with Dark Fry spells and Devastation Waves, only resorting to her best form if necessary.

At last, Pokémon's legendary arctic bird moves from its cave to the arena. It is fitting that Articuno's first opponent is another member of a group of legendary beings, and one who happens to possess an attack named Dark Fry. Thankfully for Articuno, Dark Fry is not fire based, as that is the only advantage Erim could have had in this match-up. Articuno's special stat is one of the best in its game, allowing it to do tremendous damage to Erim, as well shrug off the Sinistral's entirely magic based assault. Articuno can also use its Agility skill to give itself a huge speed advantage over Erim, which should be more than enough to seal a win for the legendary ice bird.

Sage Acrin
You know, the outcome of this match was sadly predictable.

A empty arena, and a bunch of angry fans.

In Erim's case, the cause was simple enough. She got distracted by Justin, and promptly fell in love with him. Not really a shock. Anyhow, she decided throwing the match to be with her love was worthwhile.

Well, until Feena came home, but that's another story.

In Articuno's case, it stems from a bet Zhuzhen had on Erim winning. Deciding not to play fair, he jacked the thermostat in Articuno's room to 110 degrees(Farenheit.), and the bird became so uncomfortable that it flew off to a ice cave to cool off. Being...well, bird brained, he forgot to come back for the match.

So they just settled it with a coin toss.

At least the crowd wasn't too disappointed, since after a few minutes, a drunken Shuyin wandered in and picked a fight with Sephiroth....

Erim: 31
Articuno: 27
