In his Final Aeon form, Jecht is a towering giant. As the lord of the giant Vanir, however, Surt is more than a step above his mortal opponent. Position in the heirachy of behemoths isn't his only advantage; his devastating Flare Strike alone is far more powerful than Jecht's paltry damage, and a mid-battle Might Reinforce will nearly double his impressive output. With such an edge in offense and near-equal longevity, Surt easily has the upper hand against his overconfident opponent. |

After crushing his first two opponents, Jecht now faces a foe who has much in common with himself. Both are giants, both carry huge swords, both do high physical damage, and both have good durability. Of course, it's their differences that will prove crucial in this match. Jecht has a massive durability edge on his opponent, as well as the ability to ignore the Vanir King's good evade. With these massive advantages, Jecht is sure to prove that he is indeed The Best - both at Blitzball and at slugfests. |
SageAcrin After last week's competition, Jecht has come up with a novel new fighting style. He calls it the Drunken Aeon. Basically, it involves knocking back a few (dozen) before fighting, then fighting "normally". The net effect of this fighting style is startling. Jecht's moves during the match included attempting to Jecht Beam Surt twice, being puzzled about why the petrification wasn't working, yelling loudly and drunkenly about being on fire, flipping over Surt and kicking him in the...rear, still screaming about being on fire, then grabbing a section of the arena wall, ripping it out, dropping it on the prone and stunned Surt, then propositioning a woman behind the wall, namely one Terra Branford. (On a related note, no one has decided if ripping out a piece of the wall was meant to hurt Surt, or if he was just trying to get to Terra.) Ultimately, the net result was that Jecht won, Surt woke up with a hell of a headache, and Jecht ended up fifteen feet underwater wondering where his pants were.
