With the Symphonia banner flying high in the air, Lloyd Irving marches ever onward. With one brave hero out of the way, Lloyd sets his sights on a knight of Ivalice - a fight which should prove no more challenging. Dycedarg's Defender and Heaven swordskills will prove no match for Lloyd's legendary Material Blade and mighty armors. And despite his age, Lloyd is far more capable a fighter: he's faster, stronger, more evasive, and wields far more powerful techniques - including the all-powerful Falcon Crest. Blessed with these advantages, Lloyd is in the perfect position to give Tales of Symphonia its first championship.

This season has offered a dismal range of opponents for Dycedarg Beoulve. First he has to fight a woman, and now a pitiful child? Lloyd may be reasonably skilled, but his ridiculous two-sword style is no match for the Lune Knight's powerful techniques. With a single strike, Dycedarg will shatter Lloyd’s blades, leaving the swordsman utterly helpless as Dycedarg moves to finish him off. Lloyd may be the hot new upstart, but Dycedarg's been stopped too many times - both on his conquest of Ivalice and his first Heavy campaign - for him to take another disappointment.
SageAcrin The speculation for this match ran wild.
Could Lloyd's Material Blade be broken? Could his armor?
If they couldn't, could he outfight one of the most talented knights of Ivalice? Would he even get a chance to use his powerful Falcon's Crest?
Actually, in the end, it came down to Dycedarg just not feeling like being remotely fair, activating his Zodiac Stone, and transforming into Adramelk.
Then getting disqualified due to not really being Dycedarg after that.
A common (Though often disputed.) rule of the DL is that if you're not really who it says should be fighting in that match, after using some skill, talent, merging with a giant mechanical rabbit, etc...well, you lose.
Adramelk is more the demon of the Zodiac Stone and less Dycedarg...or, at any rate, that's what the judges decided.
Then again, Adramelk, once he learned of this, took out his fury on Lloyd.
So, while Dyce's mumbling to himself over a glass of wine, both Lloyd's armor and his swords are being removed from exceptionally...tender places.
