The Swordmaster Guy may have proved too inexperienced to handle a Harmonixer, but as Saki goes against the Ranger Captain, she may be in for a challenge. Transforming foes are nothing new to the veteran Zeno, and her Last Resort makes her a frightening foe indeed. Saki's strategy is equally simple; chip a bit with her spells, then rip into Zeno with an Energy Charge enchanced physical, putting the Ranger out of commission before Last Resort can come into play. It will be a short and tense battle no matter the outcome, but Saki has all the tools she needs to come out on top.

Jean was almost too easily disposed for Captain Zeno. Fortunately, she should find a more worthy match in her second opponent: the clan chief of the Inugami, Saki. The two are evenly-matched enough at first, but Zeno's Last Resort should tip the scales once she gets going, reducing Saki's strikes to a collection of trifling scratches and allowing the Ranger Captain to unleash a flurry of destruction upon her foe with Violet Death. Zeno learned a harsh lesson at the hands of one morphing menace back on Sheltar, so she's certainly not going to hold anything back against this one.

"Heheh. You're good." Saki laughed, parrying another of Zeno's swordthrusts.
"You're not bad yourself." Zeno replied, ducking under Saki's return blow.
"What a magnificent fight." Ghaleon commented, watching the incredibly balanced battle continue, with neither side seeming to gain any ground. "Even ignoring that I failed at smashing that miserable so-called lord of time, this has been a reasonable day."
"And to think those two are friends out of the arena." Royce said, stunned as Saki just barely managed to dodge a vicious cut from Zeno's Violet Blade. "They certainly seem to enjoy fighting."
"Between watching this battle, and crushing Zidane, I suppose my day has gone well. It still doesn't feel complete, though..." Ghaleon mused.
---
"AAAUUUUGGH!" Zidane screamed, as he hurtled skywards, smashing into a corner of the arena ceiling. Flailing desperately as he crashed through, he quickly and desperately pulled out the Ultima Weapon, attempting to stab into something and stop his skyward flight.
An act which had two unfortunate consequences.
The first was fairly obvious, but Zidane lacked a insightful grasp of elementary physics at the best of times, and certainly getting beaten into near-unconciousness repeatedly had not helped.
As he stabbed blindly as he passed through the ceiling/floor, he felt the Ultima Weapon catch on something, and, for a moment, felt hope.
Then his momentum switched direction and he slammed into the floor of the upper arena with all the force he had been hurled skyward with. Simple lever effect.
The second effect wasn't clear until Zidane realized why he wasn't in horrible pain.
"Mmmm, soft..." Zidane said, puzzled.
"...why...is there a monkey on top of me?" Saki said, staring up at Zidane in bafflement.
"Because the idiot burst out of the floor and used my clothes to keep from flying out of the arena." Zeno said, her voice as cold as death, as she vainly attempted to keep her horribly rended clothes up. "And gave me a rather vicious cut in the process."
"Hmmm. Call it." Saki said, pulling out a coin, without shifting the thief on top of her, and flipping it.
"Tails." "Darn. Well, I forfeit." Saki said, shrugging. "Now, let's take care of this."
"Huh?" Zidane said, baffled.
Then Saki strangled him.
---
"...Their co-operative fighting style is even more magnificent." Ghaleon noted, watching Zeno hammer Zidane out of the air soon after Saki launched him skyward. "Still, my day doesn't feel compl-"
"Aaaaahhhhhh!" Zidane yelled hoarsely, as Saki launched him into the stands. Hurtling towards Ghaleon.
And Ghaleon effortless smashed him out of the air with a Hell Wave, before he could even come close, sending him through the ceiling, out through an empty arena, and into the sky.
"Now my day feels complete." Ghaleon said with satisfaction.
---
Zidane, hurtling through the sky, only knew pure horror, as he watched the ground close.
"...If I get out of this alive, I will never, ever, ever, ever do another perverted thing in my life, I swear to all the gods in existance everywhere!" Zidane screamed.
And a sudden gust of wind shifted his trajectory, sending him slamming into a lake.
---
"Uuuunnnnh." Zidane said, coming back to conciousness.
"Sleepy head." Zelos said, shaking him. "Wake up, I have a plan for you."
"Huh? Who are you?" Zidane said, baffled.
"...Zelos. We've met before. Remember?"
"...No, actually. I...the last thing I remember is walking into this place for the first time, yesterday. Then I fell asleep, and woke up today." Zidane said, rubbing his aching, bandaged head.
"...you...don't remember the last couple of years?" "Years!?" Zidane said, stunned.
"...oh, forget it, it's probably better this way. Look, do you want to see KOS-MOS naked?" Zelos said.
"Do I!?" "Okay, look, all you have to do is help me, and we'll get to see that today." "It's a deal!"
---
"What do you mean, "hidden curses"?" Brey said, puzzled.
"It's a theory I worked out." Mazus said, sipping a glass of wine.
"And I proved it was so by finding a few cases." Crowley said, glaring at Mazus.
"If you say so. At any rate, I have a theory that a few individuals are simply cursed by whoever guides our fates to have certain roles, no matter how hard they try to get out of them." Mazus said, shrugging.
"So, you're saying that some people, no matter how hard they try to escape from fate, are just doomed to live a certain way, no matter how hard life punishes them for it?" Brey said, frowning.
"Exactly." Crowley noted.
"...I think I'd shoot myself." Brey noted.
"They can't." Crowley said, walking over to a window, and looking out onto the starry sky. "Part of why it's a curse. They'll never believe they are at all cursed-nothing to shoot themselves over."
"Perhaps it's karma, a punishment for previous actions. Or maybe they curse themselves, by simply enjoying what they do too much. Or maybe it's simply a horrific coincidence replayed over and over."
"Or maybe the gods are just insane." Crowley mused to the sky.
