Season 44, Week 4
Suicune
(Pokémon Series)

The Aurora Pokemon has been successful so far, felling even a defending champion. While the fantastically ancient Rose's weaknesses are no so easily exploited, Suicune does have a decisive advantage. Despite her mind-numbing longevity, Rose's defenses aren't particularly high, and Suicune's punishing Hydro Pump will assuredly incapacitate her in a blow or two. Suicune is also ever so slightly faster, allowing the legendary beast to get the drop on Rose and take her down before her Dragoon spells can come into play. A fast and furious battle, befitting the semifinals, and one where Suicune holds all the cards.

If there's one thing Rose likes about Pokemon, it's that, for all their abilities, it's so very rare to find one that can resist instant death. And if you know Rose's preferred duelling style, there's nothing more to be said here. All it will take for the Dark Dragoon to walk away with this fight is to build up one turn's worth of Dragoon with her Demon's Dance combo, and then let the legendary gerbil have it with Demon's Gate. While Suicune's offense is quite good, Rose isn't so frail as to die in the solitary turn it can get before she takes dragoon form and flushes this watery menace right down the drain.

It would be a fierce competition. Tidal waves, tempests, hazy darkness blasts. A desperate fight for survival in the unfriendliest environment possible.

However, it didn't dawn on Rose that her Dragoon armor would be too heavy to let her swim in the pentathlon competition against Suicune. As such, since the first part of the contest was a five-mile swimming course, she sank like a rock, getting trapped in Atlantica during a singing minigame.

Suicune was awarded victory by default. For Rose, she's making a cameo in Kingdom Hearts 3 as yet another Nobody.
