Season 10, Week 1
Demi
(Phantasy Star 4)

The little android that could makes her reappearance in Heavy after an embarrassing defeat in Season Seven. This week, her opponent is not a walking Oedipus complex but instead a trash-talking skull. Not that this changes her strategy much: with the ability to repair nearly any amount of damage she takes, not to mention her excellent set-up of futuristic weaponry, Demi's in a good position to take down the sarcastic skull. As long as her programming holds up and doesn't succumb to Morte's acidic and scathing comments, it looks like Demi will be advancing to the next round.

Sigil's most notorious floating skull is now on the scene in the Duelling League, and he's more than ready for his premier bout. Morte isn't as agile as his android opposition, but he quarters all of Demi's damage. That means that she'll be working overtime to bring him down - while being stunned by Morte's enchanted chattering teeth! Nobody's sure whether skullboy's signature Litany of Curses will have any effect on artificial intelligence, but it won't matter too much in the end. It all comes down to a battle of attrition, and one that Morte has no intention of losing.

Morte sized up his opponent. "Eh, a nice looking chit, but I don't think she's in the mood for love. Couldn't hurt to try, though."

Floating slyly up to Demi, he smiled and let his charm begin. "Knock knock."

"Why do you persist in addressing me as a door?"

Morte stared in confusion for a moment. Something about this was familiar... "It's a joke. You're supposed to answer 'Who's there'."

"I know who is there, it is you."

Morte suddenly bolted up. "You... you're..."

Demi smiled. "I see you are now aware of the ally we share. Nordom was most interested in giving me information about you. Especially since you appear to have threatened him quite often before."

"I can explain that. You see..."

Demi continued harshly. "I believe that you have spoken more than you share for today. You have shown your disdain for the mechanical, a point which you share with many people here. I am here to put an end to the prejudice and malice against us. And I begin with you."

The last thing Morte saw before blacking out was the Phonomezer blast rushing towards him.

Grefter
Ahhh it is so typical, after such an effort to get Morte into the Duelling League and then the unfavourable dice not seeding him for a couple of seasons it is not particularly suprising that when he does get a chance to support PC RPGs that he rolls up one of the possibly worst enemies for him to fight in Heavy. Unfortunate match, may his luck be as good as Nordom's in future matches.
