After an upgrade to Heavy many seasons ago, Marle's been away from the battlefield for what seemed like an eternity...until now. It's her time to shine against a newcomer and showcase why she belongs here! While Cliff is faster and stronger than the frail princess, it doesn't matter. Provoke should turn the Klausian from a punishing fighter into a meek little kitten. Then Marle can hurry the fight up with Haste, and then proceed to blast the magically weak warrior with a series of ice spells. It's the strategy that brought her into the division in the first place, and it's just as effective here as it was back in Middle. After all, what man can argue with a bit of suggestive flirtation?

He's a one-man wrecking crew! Quark's charismatic founder finally decides to grace the arena with his presence, after watching his protege storm through Middle this past season. The woman who succeeded him as Quark's leader made it to Heavy after her first appearance, and now Cliff Fittir hopes he can match that kind of success. Thanks to his Klausian biology, Cliff is fast, strong and durable, not to mention the hardest hitter in his little group of rebels. All of these points spell trouble for his opponent: Marle is a healer and an attrition fighter, with limited reserves of magic. What better opportunity could there be to employ the devastating MP damage of Aerial Assault?

Princess Nadia was instantly defeated by the hulking power of the merciless clausian. Cliff's first attack did 9999 damage, destroyed most of the arena, and singed the hair of the lightweights sitting in the front row. Standing over his defeated opponent he was about to be declared the winner, when out of nowhere she stood up again with full HP. Cliff, stunned, used his powerful sphere of might ability delivering a crushing blow that destroyed the rest of the arena and fragged the frail female lead's body to dust.standing over the charred ashes Cliff smiled. He'd won. Out of nowhere though the princess once again reappeared looking quite unharmed. Cliff, stunned launched an all out attack. Sphere of might, Electric Fist and Hammer of of might with several strong physical hits inbetween created an electric Aura around the entire Arena what little hair on the first row lightweights head's stood on end from the static electricity in the air produced by electric fists. The dust cleared the Aura faded and all that remained of Princess Nadia was a bloody grease spot on the floor. Exausted Cliff believed the match to finally be over. When suddenly-just on cue, there was Nadia without a single scratch on her. Cliff stared in disbelief.
"How?" He said. "How can you still be alive?" Nadia without saying anything pointed behind her at Lucca in the audience who had the Gate key in one hand, the Chrono trigger in the other and a smile on her face that could make Kefka green with envy. Suddenly Cliff realized his fatal mistake. His attacks unlike many others in the DL used up his HIT POINTS in stead of his magic. He was nearly dead just from attacking her. And thanks to Lucca's intervention she had not taken a single bit of damage yet. Just as he was about to forfeit, Nadia used the only skill she needed to. Provoke. Even weakened she couldn't kill him alone. Fortunately for her, as a result of her attack on his next turn Cliff punched hiself in the face and died.
